Rupert Hands is directing 300 youngsters, making their West End debut, in a special family Spring Version of Broadway musical 'The Secret Garden' at the Ambassadors Theatre - previewing from this week

Several major Musical Theatre stars are to headline a concert production of Godspell, the heart-lifting feel-good Broadway musical from Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), at St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden on Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 August.

Managing Artistic Director Steve Malone announces the opening of Lake Forest Theatre with its Inaugural Season. Starting in June 2016, the season will include three musicals with 10 Tony awards combined: THE SECRET GARDEN (Previewing June 10 and opening June 11 at 8pm) and, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, and A CHORUS LINE. The shows will be held at the newly renovated John & Nancy Hughes Theatre in downtown Lake Forest. The long-term vision for Lake Forest Theatre is to build a brand new venue. Today in 1991, The Secret Garden opened at the St. James Theatre, where it ran for 709 performances.The Secret Garden is a musical based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The musical's book and lyrics are by Marsha Norman, with music by Lucy Simon. Directed by Susan H. Schulman with choreography by Michael Lichtefeld, the cast featured Daisy Eagan, Mandy Patinkin, and Rebecca Luker. It won the 1991 Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Daisy Eagan), and Best Scenic Design (Heidi Landesman).
