Front Row Productions has announced that the world-renowned film composer and trumpet player Terence Blanchard will compose the original musical soundscape for the upcoming Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Emily Mann, starring Blair Underwood and opening in the spring of 2012.

Vineyard Theatre and Naked Angels will co-produce the world-premiere of Zayd Dohrn's play OUTSIDE PEOPLE, directed by Evan Cabnet at The Vineyard (108 East 15th Street), which will begin performances in December, 2011 and open in January 2012, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director of Vineyard Theatre and Andy Donald, Artistic Director of Naked Angels. It is the first co-production for the two award-winning off-Broadway companies.

British playwright Joe Orton's classic dark comedy ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE, hits Los Angeles this June for a four week run at the Actors Company theater. The play, which originally debuted in London in 1964, tells a sexy, suspenseful, and often humorous story that continues to captivate and surprise audiences today. Director Stan Zimmerman leads an ensemble cast which includes: Ian Buchanan (The Bold and the Beautiful), Olivia d'Abo (THE WONDER YEARS), Emrhys Cooper (We Will Rock You) and Robin Gammell (NIP/TUCK).

Westport Country Playhouse will stage Terrence McNally's summer sizzler, 'Lips Together, Teeth Apart,' directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, playing July 12 - 30. One of the nicest aspects of seeing a play in The Roundabout's beautiful American Airlines Theatre is that it has fine acoustics. Little, if any, amplification is used when drama or comedies are staged at that venue do nothing stands between the actors' voices and the audience's ears. Such is the case with the charming revival of Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST which will be presented there until June 26th.
