On the heels of a sold out, fall 2015 BC BEAT, the next BC BEAT, set for Monday May 23rd, announces a program of eleven choreographers, launches a new BC BEAT Artist Series, and releases a limited number of advance tickets. 

BC Beat, the bi-annual choreography showcase established to support, explore and experience innovative theatrical dance, announces a line up for Monday May 18th featuring nine choreographers with work performed by a company of 40 artists from Broadway's biggest hits.  The evening kicks off at 7pm with music by DJ Justin Johnston (RENT) at Cielo (18 Little W. 12th Street). 

Based on the 1944 novel Anna and the King of Siam and hit classic Broadway musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I is making its North Texas debut at the Music Hall at Fair Park, produced by Michael A. Jenkins (six-time Tony Award winner) and Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. This exciting new production features a revamped script, timeless songs, and a new physical production with an entirely fresh interpretation of the musical. On November 17th, patrons have one chance to see a New York Theatre Barn (The Barn) exclusive Pre-­Premiere* of the new musicals, ROBOTICUS and SOMETHING BLUE at the Daryl Roth Theatre's D-Lounge. The Barn is the only 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre company whose sole mission is 'to give theatre a chance.' For the first time in the series' seven-year history, both presentations will include wireless captions for the deaf/HOH audience members, which can be accessed on personal cellular devices.

Everyday Inferno Theatre Company will present the New York premiere of A Map to Somewhere Else, at The 133rd Street Arts Center Lab. Directed by Anas Koivisto, and produced by Katherine Sommer, the production marks the NYC production premiere of playwright Reina Hardy and features original music composed by Matt Board. A Map to Somewhere Else, in its NYC premiere, will play a limited run at The 133rd Street Arts Center Lab. Written by Reina Hardy, directed by Ana?s Koivisto, and produced by Katherine Sommer, the production features a cast that includes Erin Healani Chung, Meghann Garmany, Finn Kilgore (Job and Restoration Comedy at The Flea Theatre), Eddy Lee, Lila Newman ("Prairie Home Companion"), Sam Ogilvie, Jay William Thomas (Variations Theatre Group's Einstein Off-Broadway), and Case Watson, with original music composed by Matt Board.

Mother of Invention Theatre Company, under the direction of founder and Artistic Director Gina Stahlnecker will celebrate the 100th year since Tennessee Williams' birth with the seldom seen study in moral squalor, SMALL CRAFT WARNINGS. The production will close on February 27, 2011. The production will run off-Broadway at Theatre Row (Studio Theatre - 410 West 42nd St.) Austin Pendleton will direct.
