Disney's THE LION KING makes its South American premiere in São Paulo, Brazil. Presented by T4F (Time For Fun), the production opens tonight, March 26th, 2013 at the Teatro Renault. THE LION KING in São Paulo marks two firsts: the largest stage musical ever presented in Brazil and the first time the show has been performed in Portuguese. With this Brazilian production, THE LION KING will mark its 21st production worldwide, having played on six continents.

Newsies, The Tony Award-winning hit Broadway musical, celebrates one year on Broadway March 29th at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street, New York City).

Disney's The Lion King opened at Omaha's Orpheum Theatre this past week and is playing through April 7th, 2013. The Lion King brings great entertainment to Omaha as it is a family favorite amongst the Disney Classics. This show brings such magic to the stage as it not only through the wonderful costumes, but through the music, the story and these fun filled characters. This show leaves you singing your favorite songs, repeating your favorite lines and smiling like you did when you first saw the classic Disney film.

The Omaha return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orpheum Theater for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, April 7. In Omaha, THE LION KING plays Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Matinee performances are Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. There will also be a special matinee at 2:00 pm. on Thursday, April 4. "Omahans are welcoming back this wonderful show in a big way," Joan Squires, President of Omaha Performing Arts said. "Thus far sales have exceeded our expectations but there are still good seats available," she added. "We have seats throughout the run of the show but especially in the later weeks, so check with our box office for best available seating."

The 2013-2014 Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre season was announced today by CTG Artistic Director Michael Ritchie.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the cast for Thoroughly Modern Millie, winner of the 2002 Drama Desk and Tony Award for Best Musical. This effervescent musical romp will feature Ashley Kate Adams (Miss Dorothy Brown), Brenda Braxton (Muzzy Van Hossmere), Billy Bustamante (Bun Foo), Jeff Kready (Jimmy Smith), Burke Moses (Mr. Trevor Graydon), Lenora Nemetz (Mrs. Meers), James Seol (Ching Ho), Jessica Sheridan (Miss Flannery) and Laurie Veldheer (Millie Dillmount). Thoroughly Modern Millie will be directed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee with choreography by Denis Jones. Thoroughly Modern Millie will run at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater from April 10 through May 5, 2013. The official press opening is Sunday, April 14, at 7:00pm.

The French singer and actress Floanne returns to Joe's Pub on Sunday March 24 at 7:30pm with a new edition of her still unfolding Edith Piaf project, "Edith Piaf Alive."

Mary Poppins will conclude Broadway run at The New Amsterdam Theatre today, March 3, 2013 after 2619 performances and more than six years. With attendance totaling nearly four million guests, the show has been seen by more people in the last six years than any Broadway show except Wicked and The Lion King. The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time TonyAward-winning play, have announced the cast for the upcoming New World Stages production (340 West 50th St.), which will begin performances on Monday, March 18, 2013.

Just last night, star of the original movie version of Newsies, Bill Pullman, attended a performance of the Tony Award winning new American musical, and visited with the cast backstage afterwards.
