ONCE Records Original Cast Album Today!

ONCE, the new musical based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, will play Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre this spring. Previews will begin Tuesday, February 28, 2012 with opening night set for Sunday, March 18, 2012. The cast of the show goes into the studio today to record the cast album, which will be released by Masterworks Broadway. No word yet on a release date.

Even before the show opened today Off-Broadway, producers Barbara Broccoli, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Frederick Zollo, Brian Carmody, Michael G. Wilson, and Executive Producer Robert Cole announced that ONCE, the new musical based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, will play Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre this spring. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) presents the Broadway-bound world premiere of the new musical Once, which is based on the Academy Award-winning film. Once began previews Tuesday, November 15 and opens tonight, December 6 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that the new musical Once, inspired by Dublin street performers and a stage adaptation of the eponymous film, may make it's Broadway debut in February of 2012. The musical recently received a workshop at the American Repertory Theatre in Boston and will be given a full production at the New York Theatre Workshop in December.
