THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO is coming to theaters on December 21st from Sony Pictures. An 8-minute trailer for the highly anticipated film has just debuted online.

Having composed the musical scores for some of the biggest films of the century so far, Alexandre Desplat has displayed an uncanny ability to tap into the thoughts, emotions and even the very dramatic themes inherent in properties as diverse as - just to use his most recent projects as examples - TWILIGHT: NEW MOON, HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, Roman Polanski's THE GHOST WRITER and CARNAGE, Stephen Daldry's upcoming EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE, George Clooney's THE IDES OF MARCH (another stage-to-screen adaptation like CARNAGE), Terrence Malick's THE TREE OF LIFE, as well as the main theme for MY WEEK WITH MARILYN - performed on the soundtrack by noted pianist Lang Lang. Discussing all aspects of his compositional process as well as outlining his interactions with the respective directors of each entity - his ongoing collaboration with Roman Polanski, first and foremost - Desplat and I delve into the delicate art of film composing and how he has achieved such great success and international acclaim for his incredibly impressive work on a heady list of projects in a relatively short period of time - last year's Best Picture Oscar-winner THE KING'S SPEECH included. Desplat and I also touch on some of his own favorite film composers and he shares his opinions on Broadway and Hollywood music icons such as Bernstein, Sondheim, Cole Porter, Michel Legrand, fellow Modern Music Master Mark Isham and also sheds some light on his plans for the future - and much, much more!

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO is coming to theaters on December 21st from Sony Pictures. The suspence thriller was written by Steven Zaillian, Stieg Larsson and was directed by David Fincher. Stage Left Theatre announces the upcoming Chicago Premiere of Farragut North written by Beau Willimon and directed by Artistic Director Vance Smith. Farragut North is the first production of Stage Left's 30th season. Press opening is Thursday, September 7th at 8 PM, and the show runs through October 9th.

Directed byt Stafford Arima, choreographed by Matt Williams and musical directed by Mary Mitchell-Campell, preview performances will begin at MCC on January 31, 2012. Carrie will be led by the previously announced Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie (Next to Normal, Kiss Me Kate) as Carrie's evangelical mother, Margaret White, and Molly Ranson (Jerusalem, August: Osage County) as the lonely, vengeful, yet fragile girl at the center of it all.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the full cast joining star and three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella as 'Gregor Antonescu' in Terence Rattigan's drama Man and Boy, directed by Maria Aitken.

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that Joely Richardson and Cotter Smith will star in the third and final production of the company's 25th Anniversary Season, Side Effects by Michael Weller. As previously announced, David Auburn (author of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway smash Proof) will direct this world premiere production. Performances of this two-person play begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on June 2, 2011 with an official opening night set for Sunday, June 19, 2011. Please note that these dates reflect a different schedule than the one previously announced for this production.

'House of Cards,' the much-anticipated television series and political thriller from Executive Producer David Fincher and starring two time Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey, will debut exclusively in the United States and Canada from Netflix, the world's leading Internet subscription service for enjoying movies and TV shows.

According to Variety, Kevin Spacey is set to star in a pilot entitled 'House of Cards.' Adapted from the Brittish series of the same title, the pilot is not yet attached to a network. The pilot will be written by Beau Willimon and directed by David Fincher.
