Atlantic Theater Company presents the world premiere production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' play BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton and starring Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colon, Liza Colon-Zayas, Tony Award nominee Stephen McKinley Henderson, Michael Rispoli, and Ray Anthony Thomas. The production begins previews Thursday, July 10 and will open Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Saturday, August 16, 2014 off-Broadway at Atlantic's main stage Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street). The Shakespeare Theatre Company is proud to present Buyer & Cellar as a part of its STC Presentation Series. Written by Jonathan Tolins and directed by Stephen Brackett, Buyer & Cellar will launch its North American tour in Chicago in May before coming to D.C. Buyer & Cellar had its world premiere in April 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, where it received rave reviews and played a sold-out, extended run before transferring to the Barrow Street Theatre where it opened June 24, 2013. Buyer & Cellar stars Michael Urie (Ugly Betty) as a struggling (and recently fired) L.A. actor named Alex More, who finds himself taking an odd job working in the Malibu basement of a Hollywood mega-star (and though her name is not mentioned, there are numerous similarities to Barbara Streisand). When the A-lister makes a rare appearance one day, the comedy launches into an outrageous look at fame and the price that accompanies it. Buyer & Cellar will run from June 20-29, 2014, at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW).

The award-winning comedy, Dead Man's Cell Phone returns to Chicago under the direction of one of Chicago's newest theatre companies, The Enthusiasts Theatre Company. Sarah Ruhl's smash hit comedy opens with an incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet cafe. Jean, a stranger at the next table who has had enough. And Gordon, a dead man-with a lot of loose ends. So begins Dead Man's Cell Phone, a wildly imaginative comedy. The show is about the struggle to connect in a technologically obsessed world. Dead Man's Cell Phone is a wildly imaginative comedy by MacArthur "Genius" Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Sarah Ruhl, author of the The Clean House and Eurydice. The last local production was done by Steppenwolf Theatre Company in March 2008.

Just in time for the Fourth of July and the 350th anniversary of New Jersey's charter, The Devil's Disciple celebrates the spirit and honor of the everyday people who fought for our nation's independence.

Huntington Theatre Company announces that Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his breakout role as Theo Huxtable, Bill Cosby's son on "The Cosby Show," will play Dr. John Prentice in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner in the Huntington's season opener September 5 - October 5, 2014 at the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts. Complete casting will be announced at a later date. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

Classic Stage Company has announced that Dave Quay, who appeared in the company's recent production of David Ives' The Heir Apparent, is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant.

Actress/writer/comedian NANCY REDMAN joins forces with director AUSTIN PENDLETON for their third collaboration on the United Solo Theatre Festival: 'The Doctor Is Not In,' a sci-fi comedy exploring the hypocrisy of Hippocrates, October 25 at 9 PM at Theater Row, 410 West 42nd Street.

Huntington Theatre Company concludes its 2013-2014 Season with Smart People, a sharp and provocative new comedy by Huntington Playwriting Fellow Lydia R. Diamond. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (The Power of Duff) helms the newest play from the author of the Huntington's 2010 hit production of Stick Fly. Performances of Smart People began at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA on May 23. Due to popular demand, the run has been extended to Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Obie Award-winning Metropolitan Playhouse revives WITHIN THE LAW, by Bayard Veiller, running today, May 31 - June 29, 2014, directed by Associate Director Michael Hardart at Metropolitan Playhouse (220 E 4th Street). From 1912, a story of a good girl gone bad...all while playing by the rules.

Laura Penn, Executive Director of Stage Directors and Choreographers Workshop Foundation (SDCF), announced today that Megan E. Carter will be its new Director as of June 30. Classic Stage Company just posted an Equity audition notice hunting for actor-musicians to star in ALLEGRO, directed by John Doyle with musical direction by Mary Mitchell Campbell. According to the listing, the production is slated to begin rehearsals in September for a first preview on November 1, 2014.
