The Smith Center announced today that single tickets for The National Tour of THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, will go on sale today, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.

Part of the BROADWAY PHILADELPHIA season, presented by the KimMel Center for the Performing Arts and The Shubert Organization, THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS arrives at the Academy of Music for a limited engagement beginning today, Feb. 18 - 23. The official press opening is tonight, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

The most recent version of the famous and often controversial opera, PORGY AND BESS by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward and Ira Gershwin, re-titled as THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, is now playing at DC's National Theatre through Dec. 29, 2013. The opera, which has garnered scores of awards since its first performance in 1935, has been re-mounted by the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge with a creative team including Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, who adapted the book, and Dierdre L. Murray, who adapted the musical score. THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS opened on Broadway in 2011.

The National Tour of THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, announces the complete cast for the tour launch at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre this November. The show plays in Charlotte July 15-20, 2014 in Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

The concert is a benefit for ASPCA and will feature Derek Klena, Arielle Jacobs, Gabrielle Ruiz, Kennedy Caughell, Genny Lis Padilla, Margot B, Dana Costello, Cicily Daniels, Kristin Valphedes, Katie Hotz, Lacey Angerosa, Libby Servais, Jenna Leigh Green, Emily Esposito, Britney Coleman, Matt Shingledecker, Allison Rerecich , Geoffrey Kidwell, Jaime Cepero, Jose Sepulveda, Brandon Ellis, David Davila, Tatiana Lofton, Brian Charles Rooney, Jerey Plybum, Ben Roseberry, and Eric Restivo.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Popjam Productions present the North American premiere of MOTHER, WIFE AND THE COMPLICATED LIFE - a musical comedy that tells the truth about marriage and motherhood - with book and lyrics by Australian singer, songwriter and reality TV star Amity Dry, music by Amity Dry and Mark Simeon Ferguson and directed by Hilary Adams. MOTHER, WIFE AND THE COMPLICATED LIFE is an official selection of the 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival and plays The Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street) in Manhattan through July 27! The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) began earlier this week on July 8th and will continue through July 28th. Vinnie Favale and Indie Global present staged readings of Hereafter (written by Vinnie Favale and Frankie Keane) on Monday, March 4th and Tuesday, March 5th in New York City. The industry-only staged readings are open by invitation only.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three staged readings of "Casanova", a new musical with music by Martin Sylvestri, book and lyrics by Joel Higgins, directed by Gabriel Barre. The readings will take place on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:00pm, and Thursday, February 7th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street.

What He Did For Love, a tribute concert to the late composer Marvin Hamlisch will be presented at DROM tonight, October 29th at 8pm. The concert will feature some of Hamlisch's award winning songs, as well as some of his lesser known songs; the show will also feature stories from National Tour members, as well as testimonies from Mr. Hamlisch's close friends. The concert is a must for all musical theatre lovers, and will provide the perfect homage to the late great composer!
