The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) hosted the 2011 Princess Grace Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City and presented 21 Awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film, as well as the Prince Rainier III Award which was presented to Julie Andrews and the Princess Grace Statue Award which was presented to Jon M. Chu, director of the highest grossing concert-themed film of all time in the U.S. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Oscar©-nominated actress Anne Hathaway introduced the special tribute to Julie Andrews. The Gala took place in the presence of TSH The Prince and Princess of Monaco. According to published reports, Broadway veterans Barbra Steisand will be honored with the L'Oréal Paris Legend Award at Elle's Women in Hollywood celebration. Additional honorees include: Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Naomi Watts Jennifer Aniston, Frieda Pinto, Evan Rachel Wood, and Stacey Snider. Additionally, Elizabeth Olsen will receive the Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award. The celebration will be held October 17 at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills Hotel.

NBC announced today that philanthropist, actress, author and creative director Nicole Richie -- along with admired American menswear designer John Varvatos -- will serve as celebrity mentors on 'Fashion Star,' the new reality competition series that will search for the next big brand in fashion. They join previously announced celebrity mentor Jessica Simpson and host Elle Macpherson.

This year's ball resembled 'traditional Viennese balls' and featured debutantes and classical music. In addition, the ball will open with a fashion show by Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein and Kenneth Cole. The Life Ball will be followed by an AIDS conference in Vienna, which will run from July 18 to July 23. Presented by Josh Wood Productions, this one-night-only musical event is conceived and created by Arias and musical director Ben Allison with artistic direction my Manfred Thierry Mugler.

Billie Holiday made her debut in 1948. Nina Simone first graced its stage in 1955. In 1963 Bob Dylan played the notorious venue.
