The 2017 Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, riding the wake of its inaugural success in 2015, is returning to wow the Windy City again, January 19-29, 2017.

Pointless Theatre is proud to announce our take on one of the iconic works of the early avant-garde: King Ubu, opening December 11 in the Mead Theatre Lab at Flashpoint.

It would be fairly difficult to not know what's going on with the political campaign these days especially all the asinine things a certain candidate keeps saying which have been fodder for every news cycle and comedian for months. So I guess it was just a matter of time before we get a bit of theater about him which we have with Theater Schmeater's world premiere play of Nick Edwards' "TRUMP The KING or POTUS DRUMPH: Another Sh**ty Adaptation of Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi which May or May Not Resonate with a Contemporary American Audience". And while the show offered up a few laughs I mostly walked away with two major problems with the piece, one structural and one personal (which others may well encounter too) but we'll get to those.

Flatulence. 2+2=5. Just in time for the final sprint to the finish line in the presidential election race, Firehouse presents this world premiere hybrid mash-up from the revolutionary imaginations of Alfred Jarry (UBU ROI) and George Orwell (1984) about power, corruption...and obscenity. Firehouse's world premiere of UBU 84 will be adapted and directed by James Ricks.

Quebec's foremost object theatre company, Theatre de la Pire Espece, presents the UK premiere of their international hit Ubu on the Table at Summerhall from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 28 August for the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  After over 800 performances around the world, in more than 15 countries, this acclaimed adaptation of Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi comes to Scotland.

Wet the Hippo Collective, (John Gilkey, Artistic Director) the hit underground comedy ensemble, presents The Simple Simples, written and performed by Max Baumgarten, Tim Reid, Gemma Soldati, Tyler Watson, and Eli Weinberg and directed by John Gilkey. Opens Friday, June 10 and runs until June 25 as a part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 9pm. A preview will be held on  June 4th at 9pm.
