Casting Announced For IS GOD IS at the Royal Court Theatre in September

Vivienne Acheampong, Adelayo Adedayo, Ray Emmet Brown, Ernest Kingsley Jnr, Tamara Lawrance, Rudolphe Mdlongwa, Mark Monero and Cecilia Noble have been cast in the UK premiere of Is God Is written by Aleshea Harris and directed by Royal Court Associate Director Ola Ince.

This week has seen the launch of ITV’s new series, Unsaid Stories. Comprised of short 15-minute films that respond to the Black Lives Matter movement, the project was made in July under Covid-19 filming restrictions. The films are part of ITV’s own efforts to enhance diversity and representation in their work, after the Black Lives Matter movement has exposed the urgent need for organisations and individuals to address systemic racism. The launch of their ‘Diversity Acceleration Plan’ on 9th July follows the lead of many other media outlets and arts organisations.

With just a few days until the premiere of the highly anticipated YouTube Originals series ORIGIN, YouTube has partnered with Sent Into Space to debut the first few minutes of episode one, with a special introduction from series star, Tom Felton, all from space! Fans can get a glimpse of episode one via an interactive 360 camera view of a Google Pixelbook floating high above earth in the open atmosphere. With the 360 video, viewers are able to explore the mysterious corners of space while watching the sneak peek of ORIGIN, backdropped with an amazing visual of earth.

YouTube today unveiled the cast for ORIGIN, a riveting new sci-fi thriller from the producers of The Crown andStrike Back. In ORIGIN, a group of strangers find themselves stranded on a spacecraft bound for a distant planet. The abandoned passengers must work together for survival, but quickly realize that one of them is far from who they claim to be. Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, AVP: Alien vs. Predator, Event Horizon) is directing the first two episodes of this 10-episode series, currently filming in South Africa. ORIGIN will be coming exclusively to YouTube Red later this year.

CUTTIN' IT, a devastating new play by Charlene James, tackles the urgent issue of female genital mutilation in Britain. It's directed by Gbolahan Obisesan and stars Adelayo Adedayo (SOME GIRLS) and Tsion Habte. As part of the A Nation's Theatre Festival, it runs at the Young Vic's Maria May 20-June 11, and then plays at Jerwood Theatre Upstairs as part of the Royal Court's 60th anniversary season (June 23-July 13), Birmingham Repertory Theatre (June 14-18), Latitude Festival (July 15), Sheffield Crucible (July 20-23) and The Yard (July 26-30).
