When I was offered a role in One Last Push, at Salisbury Playhouse, a major selling point, was that it was written by Chris Chibnall. I know Chris’s work from TV – Dr Who, Broadchurch, Life on Mars and more, but until this point hadn’t realised, he was also a highly skilled playwright.

The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice announce that Artistic Director of New York Theatre Workshop, James C. Nicola, and Artistic Director and founder of Theatre For A New Audience, Jeffrey Horowitz, will receive special Obie Awards for Lifetime Achievement at the 64th Annual Obie Awards, which will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street).

Executive Producers Pam Carter and The Cliplight Theater, in conjunction with Amanda Cooper/ALC Management, are pleased to announce the world premiere of Maverick, co-authored by Frank Beacham and George Demas. A dramatization of co-author Beacham's real-life experience collaborating with Orson Welles in the months leading up to his death, Maverick begins previews at The Connelly Theater (220 E. 4th St., between Ave. A & Ave. B) on February 6, with opening night set for February 13 for a limited run through March 2. Berkeley Rep announced today that Obie Award-winning performer Nilaja Sun (No Child…) will return with her tour-de-force solo show Pike St., directed by Ron Russell. Hailed as "Full of vivid life" by the New York Times, this limited engagement will run Saturday, November 17, 2018 through Sunday, December 16, 2018.

Print Room at the Coronet has today announced further details for Out of Blixen and Babette's Feast, two productions that will run consecutively, putting a spotlight on the fascinating life and writing of Karen Blixen.

Following their one-off theatrical re-staging of Ken Loach's seminal work Cathy Come Home at the Barbican in July of this year, the award-winning theatre company Cardboard Citizens has announced a brand new touring production for October, Cathy, based around similar themes. This year marks the marks the both 50th anniversary of Loach's film and the 25th anniversary of the theatre company who work making theatre with and for homeless people. 

Vancouver, BC - NorthWest Comedy Fest and Just For Laughs are proud to celebrate the success of their inaugural comedy festival, JFL NorthWest, which took place February 18-27. Over 22,000 fans attended the 10-day festival, which featured more than 60 performances at 16 venues across Vancouver. In addition, audiences world-wide were able to catch a glimpse of the festival and some of their favourite comedians via Periscope.

JFL NorthWest is pleased to add Vir Das, India's biggest name in comedy, to its star-studded lineup. The inaugural festival takes place from Thursday, February 18 to Saturday, February 27, 2016 at multiple venues across the Lower Mainland. Arin Arbus, the director of last season's Theatre for a New Audience production of Othello, will direct the Bard's provocative, funny and modern comedy, Measure for Measure, for a limited engagement that begins previews Saturday, February 6, for an opening Sunday, February 14, at 7:00pm.

The Cliplight Theater and Theatre at Saint Clement's will present Levittown, written by Marc Palmieri and directed by George Demas, beginning Wednesday, July 8 at 8pm at Theatre at Saint Clement's, 423 West 46th Street. The opening night is set for Monday, July 13 at 8pm. Levittown had a developmental workshop in the summer of 2006 at Axis Theatre Company, directed by Mr. Demas.
