Heather Ehlers' SPIN Plays United Solo Festival, 11/9 & 12
Heather Ehlers, long-time stage actress, will return to New York City with her solo work, SPIN, for two Encore performances at the 2012 United Solo Theatre Festival. SPIN played to sold out houses last year in Los Angeles and New York City. Performances are November 9 & 12 at 9:00pm.
SPIN is a hilarious, brutally honest play of transcendence via sex, love and spirituality. Ms. Ehlers catches herself every fifteen years in very distinct phases of womanhood, as she spins in and out of stories from ages fifteen to forty-five. She struggles with issues of identity and first love as a foreign exchange student. She is completely transformed through pregnancy and natural childbirth labor. And, she has a passionate affair that destroys her marriage, breaks her heart, and ultimately brings her back to herself with a new connection to spirit.
Throughout this tour-de-force of feminine ferocity, Ms. Ehlers unabashedly shares her personal experiences as she rediscovers forgiveness and faith. Heather Ehlers has worked as a professional actress for over twenty-five years, appearing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in theaters across the country, as well as in TV and film. She is currently on the Theater faculty at California Institute of the Arts.
United Solo Theatre Festival is a highly acclaimed international festival for solo performances held annually in New York City. It is the largest solo theatre festival in the world. One hundred productions will be held October 11 through November 18, 2012 at Theatre ROW on 42nd Street. Tickets may be purchased at Telecharge.com.
