WAY OFF BROADWAY DINNER THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS
FOR THE SONG AND DANCE MUSICAL WEST SIDE STORY
The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, the Frederick area’s only year-round producing theatre, has announced auditions for its summer production of the popular song and dance musical West Side Story. Auditions will be on Monday, March 30th beginning at7:00 p.m. at the theatre located in the Willowtree Plaza off of Route 40 West in Frederick, Maryland.
Those auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bars of prepared music and be ready to sing, read from the script, and dance. All roles are open and non-union paying. No appointments are necessary and an accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning should be at least 18 years old.

In West Side Story, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
West Side Story runs from June 12th – August 29th, with performances every Friday andSaturday evening, and matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month. Way Off Broadway’s production is directed by Bill Kiska, with choreography by Dee Buchanan, and music direction by Jordan B. Stocksdale.
The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, under the direction of the Kiska Family since 2002, proudly celebrated its 20th Anniversary Platinum Season in 2014. Way Off Broadway is also the home of a one-of-a-kind children’s lunch theatre, offering entertainment for the entire family, giving children a chance to see their favorite characters live on stage. In addition to its regular season, the theatre produces a number of special events throughout the year including an annual Breakfast with Santa (and Mrs. Claus) and an interactive mysteries series.
