Little Radical Theatrics proudly announces auditions for its Summer 2013 production of one of Broadway’s longest running musical“The Wiz”.
Directed by Michael Mirra, Choreographed by Theresa Burns, Musical Direction by Brett Pontecorvo.
All roles open to all ethnicities and all ages from children (age 7+) to adults. Performs at the Rosenthal JCC July 19th-21st in Pleasantville, NY.
Rehearsals beginning June 2nd: weekdays 7-10 PM and one weekend day 3-9 PM at ArtsWestchester 31 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains NY (five minutes walk from White Plains Metro-North Station).
*Actors Will ONLY be called for the scenes/songs that they are in*
Auditions will be held May 28th and 29th 7-10 PM, June 1st 12-2 PM at Artswestchester 31 Mamaroneck Ave White Plains, NY . Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (need not be from a musical) and bring sheet music as well has headshot/resume. You may sing from the show.

ROLE BREAKDOWN
DOROTHY- mezzo-soprano. Age 13-25. Sweet actress with amazing singing voice who dances and who sure ain't in Kansas anymore.
SCARECROW– tenor. Age Range 16-35. A man made of straw who is need of a brain. Must be an exceptional character actor who sings and dances.
TIN MAN – baritone. Age Range. A man made of metal who is in need of a heart. Must be an exceptional character actor who sings and moves very well.
LION – baritone. Age Range 25-40. A somewhat cowardly lion who is in need of some courage. Must be an exceptional character actor who sings.
THE WIZ – tenor. Age Range 30-50+. The man behind the curtain pulling people's strings.
ADDAPERLE – mezzo-soprano. Age Range 25-45. The older, clumsy but kind and sassy Good Witch of the North. Character actress who is a strong Soul/R&B style singer.
EVILLENE – alto. Age Range 25-50 The horrid, smelly Wicked Witch of the West who is petrified of water. The Wicked Witch of the West is the comic book villain of the show and therefor requires a strong singer who is a great comedienne.
GLINDA – alto. Age Range 20-35. The glamorous, beautiful, kind and gracious Good Witch of the South. Strong R&B style singer.
AUNT EM – mezzo-soprano. Age Range 30-50+. Dorothy's loving aunt back in Kansas. Strong RnB style singer.
UNCLE HENRY/LORD HIGH UNDERLING. Age Range 30-50+. Dorothy's loving uncle back in Kansas/Evilene's Head Lackey. Role for talented older actor who doesn't sing.
GATEKEEPER. Any age. Hilarious featured acting role
WINGED MONKEY. Any age. The Wicked Witch of the West's Henchman. Must be great singer and actor. Must be able to move well. Gymnastics and tumbling is a plus.
KALIDAH QUEEN Female. Age Range 21-50. The Queen of the half-tiger, half-bear attack squad. Featured acting and dancing role.
SOLDIER MESSENGER Any Age. Featured Actor
TORNADO/YELLOW BRICK ROAD/POPPIES: Any age. Featured dancers with strong voices.
MUNCHKINS/WINGED MONKIES/FIELD MICE: Any age. Strong comedic actors and singers.
CROWS/EMERALD CITY CITIZENS/WINKIES/BRAND NEW DAY SOLOISTS: ANY AGE. Featured singers
