The Un-Common Theatre Company announces September Auditions for
The Wizard of Oz
The Un-Common Theatre Company's Fall Family Production is excited to offer auditions for young and old alike for The Wizard of Oz on Sunday, September 8th, 2013, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Directed and Choreographed by Michael Hammond and Music Directed by Paula Bishop, this show will feature a cast of all ages and will be performed at the Orpheum Theater in Foxboro, MA, November 22-24, 2013.
Un-Common is continuing the tradition of bringing kids and adults, parents and grandparents together on stage for a truly family-oriented theatrical experience. We encourage all who have felt the pull of the stage lights to come and audition for what promises to be a wonderful experience from the first rehearsal through the final curtain call!
The classic tale of Dorothy and Toto’s adventure in Oz has melted hearts for more than seven decades with its unforgettable melodies and timeless themes of family, home and the courage to pursue dreams. Adapted from L. Frank Baum’s enduring children’s story, The Wizard of Ozfollows a Kansas girl’s journey over the rainbow where she meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion and other magical creatures. Click your heels together and join us in traveling through the magical Land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain our hearts’ desires. Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys as we explore this fantastic musical treat for the whole family.

Join us as we share this memorable story and its many unforgettable characters and songs including Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead, Follow the Yellow Brick Road, and If I Only Had a Brain.
Auditions will be held at the Orpheum Theater in Foxboro, MA for everyone in Grade 2 though Adult on Sunday, September 8th, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Callbacks will be held at 6:30 pm. All roles are available. To make an appointment, email

For those who are out of practice or would like to improve their auditioning skills, Un-Common is also offering an Audition Workshop, taught by The Wizard of Oz’s creative team of Michael Hammond and Paula Bishop. This Audition Workshop is being held on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro, MA. Please
