PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY UPCOMING AUDITIONS The Messenger ?Pioneer Theatre Company is holding auditions for its production of The Messenger. Equity actors are requested to submit audition materials online; non-equity actors must attend an in-person audition on Friday, September 10. Norway. 1882. The Stockman home. Sound familiar? Not so fast. Therese Stockman is a small-town doctor and single mother who has made a shocking discovery about the industry that gives her town its lifeblood. Her friend Kristine Hovstad, the editor of The Messenger (one of the two competing newspapers in town), is going to take the story and run with it, but at what cost? Using Henrik Ibsen’s classic An Enemy of the People as a departure point, playwright Jeff Talbott's brand-new play examines our relationships with the press, our community, and each other. The production is directed by Wes Grantom. Rehearsal runs December 20, 2021 - January 13, 2022, including rehearsals on December 24, December 31, and January 1. The performance dates are January 14 - January 29, 2022. A headshot and resume are recommended. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
