The Un-Common Theatre Company announces September Auditions for
Roald Dahl's Willie Wonka
The Un-Common Theatre Company is excited to begin its 33rd season by offering auditions for young and old alike for Roald Dahl's Willie Wonka. Directed and Choreographed by Michael Hammond and Music Directed by Paula Bishop, the Fall Family Production will feature a cast of all ages and will be performed at The Orpheum Theater in Foxboro, MA, November 16-18, 2012.
Un-Common is continuing the tradition of bringing kids and adults, parents and grandparents together on stage for a truly family-oriented theatrical experience. We encourage all who have felt the pull of the stage lights to come and audition for what promises to be a wonderful experience from the first rehearsal through the final curtain call!
Join us as we explore Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir. This classic comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and features the songs from the timeless family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory including The Candy Man, Pure Imagination, I Want it Now! and I've got a Golden Ticket.
Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka follows the enigmatic candy manufacturer as he stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory - or suffer the consequences. This scrumdidilyumptious musical is guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth.
Auditions will be held at The Orpheum Theater in Foxboro, MA for everyone in Grade 2 though Adult on Sunday, September 9, from 1:00 to 4:00pm BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Callbacks will be held at 5:00pm. To make an appointment email

For those who are out of practice or would like to improve their auditioning skills, Un-Common is also offering an Audition Workshop, taught by Willy Wonka's creative team of Michael Hammond and Paula Bishop. This Audition Workshop is being held on Thursday, September 6, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in Foxboro, MA.
