Pioneer Theatre Company UPCOMING AUDITIONS Once

Pioneer Theatre Company is holding auditions on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for their production of the winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical, Once. 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. is reserved for Actors Equity Association members only. Callbacks will be held in October by invitation only. Based on the surprise hit film of the same name, Once is about the romance between an Irish street musician and the young Czech woman, also a musician, he meets on the streets of Dublin. The book is by Enda Walsh. Music and lyrics are by Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová. All roles are available. All characters except the child, Ivanka, must play musical instruments. If an auditioner is an accomplished musician but not in the exact instruments outlined for a specific character, we invite them to consider auditioning anyway. Auditioners must come in to sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The sign-up sheet will be posted on Friday, September 14, 2018. All auditions will be held in Room 245 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
The production is directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh, with musical direction by Tom Griffin and choreography by Lainie Sakakura. Rehearsal dates for Once are January 21, 2019 through February 14, 2019; performance dates are February 15 - March 2, 2019. Please see WHO: Pioneer Theatre Company
