AUDITION NOTICE
CPT HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
A YOUTH THEATRE INTENSIVE PRODUCTION

Audition Dates & Times: August 10 & 11, 2021 at 5:00 pm each day at
Conejo Players Theatre, 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks

Show Dates & Times: December 10 & 11 at 7pm, December 11 & 12 at 2 pm

Audition Info: Please prepare 32 bars of any holiday song you would like to sing. Bring your own audio device with the accompaniment music (no voices on your accompaniment). You will also be given a short script to do a “cold read” after you sing. Come dressed (and with proper shoes) to learn a short dance number.

Characters:

BELLA: to play 11-16 The oldest sibling in the family. Kind but stern. She’s in charge of the party and is always here to lend a helping hand. One of the primary speaking roles.
JOSH: to play 8-13 The middle sibling in the family, a little funny, talkative, full of energy and can always make everyone smile. A primary speaking role.
JULIE: to play 6-10 The baby of the family, cute, snack loving, has a good quip once in a while, but generally has few lines.
GRAMMY: to play 65+ A loving, caring, cookie-baking grandma. Non-singing, but does have a few lines.
ALYSSA AND PARKER: to play 15-17 Alyssa is cousin to the main family, and Parker is attending the party with her. They are only in one scene and number. NOTE: tap dance experience is required for Alyssa and Parker. If auditioning for them we may ask you to show us some tap steps.
PARTY GUESTS: EVAN, WINNIE, ALEX, SOFIA, GINA, ANNA and OTHERS the ensemble of the show, a group of children ranging from all ages, a group to sing, dance, share holiday stories with small to medium speaking roles.
PARENTS, AUNTS/UNCLES: looking for adults, any gender and any age to accompany their children to the party.

Note: There will be two tap numbers in this show. Tap experience is not necessary for all, but please let us know if you are a tapper!

Synopsis: Welcome to the Conejo Players Theatre’s first ever holiday party! Hosted by Bella, Josh, and Julie, we’ll take turns sharing our favorite holiday memories through song, dance, food, games and more! Ranging from Kwanza to Santa Lucia day, you’ll hear some of your favorite holiday classics, and maybe learn a thing or two about cultures, traditions, and what makes this time of year so special for so many people.
