---THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME--- (PLAY)

15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.

Based on the 1992 hit movie with Whoopi Goldberg, this musical follows the fallen showgirl, Deloris Van Cartier, who unexpectedly finds sisterhood and redemption when forced to take refuge in a convent.

SEEKING:

DELORIS VAN CARTIER (20s-30s, African-American, female) a feisty, strong-willed larger than life character. Aspires to be the next great singing sensation, but is forced to hide from Curtis in a convent. Needs a powerhouse disco diva voice with a huge range.

MOTHER SUPERIOR (40s+, female) haughty, well spoken, stickler for rules and routine with a tough exterior. Does not want Deloris in her convent.

SISTER MARY ROBERT (20s, female) A small, postulant nun. Very timid and quiet until she “finds her voice”.

SISTER MARY PATRICK (mid 20s-30s, female) A large, bubbly, persistently enthusiastic character. Everyone’s friend.

SISTER MARY LAZARUS (mid 50s, female) Choir mistress. Unwelcoming to Deloris at first, but eventually gets swept up in her music.

MONSIGNOR O’HARA (late 40s, male) a good natured gentleman. Bright and positive despite the looming closure of his parish. Loves the change Deloris has brought to his church.

CURTIS JACKSON (35-50, male) gangster in pursuit of Deloris. Always in control, or so he thinks.

EDDIE (20s-30s, male) a good cop, former classmate of Deloris who still harbors affections for her. Determined to be her hero.

TJ (20s-40s, male) Curtis’ nephew. One of Curtis Jackson’s henchman.

JOEY (20s-40s, male) One of Curtis Jackson’s henchman.

PABLO (20s-40s, Latino/Hispanic, male) One of Curtis Jackson’s henchman.

ERNIE (20s-40s, male) One of Curtis Jackson’s henchman who turns out to be an undercover police informant.

ONCE follows a classic tale of boy-meets-girl but through the eyes of two musicians and the community they bring together on the streets of Dublin. Based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning movie for Best Original Song (“Falling Slowly”), ONCE features a cast that acts as its own orchestra to tell an enchanting and emotionally captivating story about love, humanity, and the saving power of music.

With an epic and moving score, this glorious new musical whisks us away to the mysterious, isolated island of Atlantis. On the Eve of The Sacred Solstice, a young refugee, fleeing her violent homeland, washes up on the shore, sending the island into political chaos.

THEA (21, female) strong willed, optimistic and adventurous young woman who desires to be a great leader like her parents. Aeon and Lyra’s only living daughter. Will one day take up her mother’s mantle as Bearer of the Order

KADEN (21, male) Thea’s best friend and love interest. Easy to be around with a strong sense of duty. He takes his responsibility as a Firstborn seriously, and is rehearsing to ascend to Thera during Solstice.

ARAH (22, male) The first traveler to reach the shores of Atlantis. Everything about him is magnetic. Strong-willed and reticent yet vulnerable and astute, he has known hardship and is slow to trust others.

LYRA (40s, female) Thea’s mother. Spouse of Aeon. Head of the Aether (sense) Clan, keepers of attitudes & arts. Leader of the Order. An innately powerful woman whose main objective is to nurture the well-being of Atlantis.

AEON (40s, male). Thea’s father. Spouse of Lyra. Head of the Fire (flame) Clan, keepers of mountain & mines. Member of the Order. Deeply compassionate, sometimes hot-headed.

CLEO (40s, female) Head of the Air (breath) Clan, keepers of health & healing. Member of the Order. Spouse of Lotti. Mother of Kaden and Alexa. A patient, old soul.

PERIA (40s, male) Head of the Water (rain) Clan, keepers of seas & sails. Member of the Order. Hard, suspicious, effective.

CHILON (40s, male) Head of the Earth (earth) Clan, keepers of forests & fields. Member of the Order. Practical, well-reasoned.

LOTTI (40s, female) Member of the Aether clan. Spouse of Cleo. Mother of Kaden and Alexa. A natural-born performer.

ALEXA (10, female) Sister of Kaden. Daughter of Cleo and Lotti. Enthusiastic for everything, hope personified.

LEUCOSIA & LIGEIA (20s, females). Strong and rather shallow sentinels. Members of the Water Clan.

Based on L.Frank Baum's classic 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Set to the sounds of R&B, soul and pop, this Tony Award-winning musical follows Dorothy and her friends as they “Ease on Down” the yellow brick road.

SEEKING:

Consummate triple threats.

DOROTHY (18+, believable as 13-17, female) A clever young woman from the heartland of Kansas who has a big and innocent heart, indomitable spirit, and a one of a kind voice. Must have a bright personality and have vocal flexibility. Mezzo-soprano.

SCARECROW (20s, male) Excellent dancer with a warm and winning spirit. An energetic free-wheeling enthusiastic lovable young man who is tired of the prospect of not going anywhere. He is game for adventure. A man made of straw, in search of a brain. Tenor.

TIN MAN (Age Flexible, male) A man made of tin. A singer who can dance who joins the journey in search of a heart. Baritone.

LION (Age Flexible, male) a cowardly lion, in search of some courage. A larger than life performer with consummate comic timing. Classically trained sound. High Baritenor.

GLINDA (20s-60s, female) The Good Witch of the South. The confident, kind, gracious and ostensibly good witch. Admired by all. Alto. R&B style.

ADDAPERLE (20-60s, female) The Good Witch of the North. A scatterbrained trickster with excellent comic timing. Mezzo-soprano with strong pop/R&B sound.

EVILENE (20s-60s, female) The horrid and hilarious villain. Alto.

AUNT EM (20-60s, female) Dorothy’s aunt. A strong woman with a clear moral compass. She loves her family very much.

UNCLE HENRY/GATEKEEPER (Age Flexible, male) Dorothy’s uncle. A strong man who works with his hands.

THE WIZ (20-40s, male or female) theatrical and charismatic person behind the curtain. Giant, larger than life energy and persona. Powerful rock tenor.
