Breakdown

Especially interested in actors who play instruments for these roles, but the ability to play is not required.

Seeking:

DOLLY GALLAGHER LEVI
late 30s to late 40s. Mrs. Levi is bursting with life; she has a twinkle in her eye. Mischievous; a fast thinker and talker; a trickster. She can talk herself out of any problem she gets into. She is charismatic and charming. Looking for comic actors who are good improvisers and solid singers. Experience with physical comedy/farce is a plus. This role can be played by an actor with a mobility disability. This character is African American, Latina, Asian American or Caucasian.

CORNELIUS HACKL
30s to early 40s. A romantic lead, but not necessarily traditionally handsome. He is full of self-confidence, daring, and full of adventure. Cool under pressure. A perfect complement to Irene Molloy’s rebellious impulsiveness. Looking for comic actors who are good improvisers and solid singers. Experience with physical comedy/farce is a plus. This character is African American, Latino, Asian American or Caucasian.

MISS IRENE MOLLOY
30s to early 40s. A romantic leading actor. She works in a milliner’s shop and on the outside appears content, but she is a rebel at heart. She is driven by frustration with her financial and social limitations, a hot head. She seems prim, but when necessary, the gloves come off. A thoroughbred who’s been locked up in a stable and cannot be contained any longer. A good match for Cornelius. Looking for comic actors who are good improvisers and solid singers. Experience with physical comedy/farce is a plus. This role can be played by an actor with a mobility disability. This character is African American, Latina, Asian American or Caucasian.
