(Monday-Thursday 4-9:30pm; Sat-Sun 2-7:30pm, 5 ½ hour rehearsals)

Performances (7-9pm): March 23 – April 10, with a possible 1-week extension

Breakdown

Using their signature performance style, Panoramic Theatre, this unique production of Romeo & Juliet hearkens back to the touring productions of Shakespeare’s company, the King’s Men, in which all actors will play multiple parts.

It is imperative that we assemble an ETHNICALLY DIVERSE CAST. Actors of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to attend the audition.

All actors submitted should be skilled with classical text and must be experienced with rapier/dagger and hand-to-hand stage combat. Major roles are indicated below.

SEEKING: (2 Women and 4 Men)

Actor 1
Female, early to mid 20s. Will play:

JULIET: Capulet’s daughter. Privileged, young, impassioned, impulsive, romantic and naïve.


Actor 2
Male early to late 20s. Will play:

ROMEO: Montague’s son. Idealistic, poetic, changeable, passionate.


Actor 3
Male 40s – 50s. Will play:

CAPULET: Juliet’s father. Headstrong, loyal to family, and conservative.

MERCUTIO: Romeo’s cousin. Passionate, poetic, dramatic.


Actor 4
Female 40s – 50s. Will play:

LADY CAPULET: Juliet’s mother. Strong, smart and manipulative.

BENVOLIO: Romeo’s cousin. Loyal, realistic and sympathetic.


Actor 5
Male mid 30s – 50s. Will play:

MONTAGUE: Romeo’s father. Concerned, determined, loves Romeo.

TYBALT: Juliet’s cousin. Fiery, brave and proud.

PARIS: Betrothed to Juliet. Regal, sturdy and jealous.


Actor 6
Male 30s – 60s. Will play:

NURSE: Juliet’s nurse. Anxious, loyal and comedic. Can keep a secret.

FRIAR LAWRENCE: Even keeled, thoughtful and wise. Believes in love.
