Seeking:
SIR
Male, late 50s - early 70s. Supreme ruler of the district. God-like, willful, mystical, mercurial, enigmatic. He is what every man imagines power to be. Considers himself benevolent, he is despotic only by necessity.
MIRANDA
Female, 20s - 30s. The chambermaid in Sir’s household. Bored, beautiful, smart, acerbic. Confident in her dealings with all men but Sir. Hides talents from others that Sir cannot live without. Strong, soulful and ethereal vocalist, able to sing in multiple styles. Ability to play guitar and accompany self a plus. (No singing at the EPA)
ELLIOT
Male, 30s - 40s. Butler in Sir’s household. A former psychoanalyst. Loves Miranda and obsesses about her visits to Sir’s chambers. Clings to his pride, despite a diminished role in the household. Plagued by fears of dismissal. Prone to erratic and emotional outbursts.
GULLIVER
Male, 30s - 40s. Sir’s main man, with an agenda to replace him. Obsequious to Sir; arch, supercilious and condescending to others. Sly, scheming, reptilian – and extremely well-dressed. Spies on everyone. Desires Miranda.
FELIX
Male, 30s - 50s, African-American or Hispanic. Plumber sent by Sir to rescue Miranda and Elliot from the horrors of the outside world. Easy charm disguising sharp intelligence. Patiently awaits his turn at command.
CHESTER
Male, 30s - 40s. English fop with smarmy aloofness who chances upon Miranda and Elliot before Felix arrives. Anouk’s unlikely companion and lover. Polished, with an air of entitlement.
ANOUK
Female, 30s. Egyptian beauty, stunning and perhaps statuesque. Haughty, imperious, self-absorbed. A user of men, confident of her powers.
