KAI (MARGARET GILL)
Female, 30s, Japanese. Kai is a musicologist presenting a paper at a Shakespeare conference, her first academic conference and first time in the US. She is brilliant but terrified that someone will discover she doesn’t speak English. She loves Harry Styles and pop music. Also plays Margaret Gill, a Victorian Englishwoman and Ira Aldridge’s fiancée in dream sequences. Must play piano. Fluent Japanese a plus. May play roles in the other repertory plays.
