Breakdown

Seeking:

PRESIDENT LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON
Male, Mid 50’s-Early 60’s, Caucasian. A master politician and incredible manipulator of men and events, LBJ is a study in contradictions: he’s compassionate and cruel, calculating and impulsive, charming and insensitive, with an uncanny instinct for finding the weaknesses of both his adversaries and his allies. He possesses a marvelous, often crude sense of humor and is a terrific storyteller. Privately, he’s a font of extraordinary insecurity and vulnerability.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
Male, Mid-Late 30’s, African American. The great Civil Rights leader and conscience of the nation has a brilliant mind and a powerful presence. He’s charismatic, insightful, and resilient, but no plaster saint: MLK is also funny, passionate, and a very shrewd political operator in his own right. He’s trying to keep the Movement alive through impossible tradeoffs and maneuverings, each of which weighs heavily upon him.

J. EDGAR HOOVER
Male, Mid-Late 60’s, Caucasian. The infamous FBI Director, whose paranoia and desire for power leads him to sanction massive corruption and illegal surveillance. His extensive files on everyone in Washington make him dangerous, but he’s terrified of losing his position and influence. Hoover is vain and fussy, but a formidable opponent.
