Public Theater's Online Auction To Support Annual Gala Launches 6/22

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will launch an online auction at 12 PM on Monday, June 22 in support of The Public Theater's annual gala on Thursday, June 25 for the opening of Twelfth Night. The auction will feature once-in-a-lifetime experiences with Anne Hathaway, Audra McDonald, Julie White, Jonathan Groff and the cast of the Tony Award-winning Hair. The auction closes on Monday, June 29.

To place a bid, just log-on to The Public Theater's auction site at http://donations.ebay.com/charity/charity.jsp?NP_ID=32134 before the June 29th deadline. You can also access the auction by going to publictheater.org. All proceeds from the auction will benefit The Public Theater.

Tea Party or Drinks with Academy Award Nominee Anne Hathaway

Treat your daughters or two special people in your life to an unforgettable afternoon or evening with film star and Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries, The Devil Wears Prada, Rachel Getting Married.) This once-in-a-lifetime event includes tea with your family (you and two guests) at Sweetiepie, the West Village's pretty-in-pink eatery that's perfect for kids of all ages, or cocktails with you and two friends with Anne at another mutually agreed-upon New York City location. This auction item must be scheduled by May 31, 2010.

Singing Lesson With Audra McDonald

Broadway songbird and four-time Tony Award Winner Audra McDonald (Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun) will share the secrets of her trade and some of her backstage stories in this exclusive singing lesson. The session takes place in a New York City rehearsal studio with a piano accompanist and includes work on three songs of the winner's choice. Immediately afterwards, join Audra for coffee/tea at a local coffee shop. This auction item must be scheduled at a mutually convenient time before November 1, 2009.

Tee Off with Tony Award Winner Julie White

You and three guests will join Tony Award-winning funny lady and avid golfer Julie White (Twelfth Night, The Little Dog Laughed) for two hours of golf at Manhattan's premier sports facility, Chelsea Piers. Laughs are par for the course at this golf party, which includes exclusive use of a Full Swing Simulator and light catering from Chelsea Brewery will be provided. Must be scheduled by August 31, 2010.

Theater and Dinner Date With Jonathan Groff

See Tony-nominee Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, The Singing Forest, Hair) in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of The Bacchae this summer. The winner will receive two VIP reserved seats to a performance of The Bacchae (between August 20 and August 30, 2009) and immediately afterward, will join Jonathan and a Public Theater staff member for a private post-show dinner and drinks at a location TBD.

If winner is unable to attend The Bacchae, winner will attend a Broadway or off-Broadway show with Jonathan on a date that is mutually agreed upon and have dinner and drinks after the show. Must be scheduled by August 30, 2010.

Get ready for your close-up with a featured walk-on role in the Tony Award-winning revival of Hair. Your Broadway debut includes a costume provided by the Hair wardrobe department and a spotlighted dance with a cast member. Winner will receive four tickets to that performance, an autographed poster, as well as the opportunity to take photos with the cast after the dance party finale. Finish off your premiere night by joining Hair cast members for drinks immediately following the performance. This auction must be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date for both the winner and the Hair company by August 31, 2010.
