Michael Arden Featured on NBC's 'KINGS' 3/29

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello first reported in his ‘The Ausiello Files' that Michael Arden would play a role on the NBC's mid-season drama KINGS, his character is described as a gay love interest for one of the series' major players. The episode that Arden is first introduced in will air on March 

NBC's KINGS is an exploration of the timeless David-versus-Goliath struggle. The show is set in a modern metropolis under siege, where the fighting has gone on for too long and cost far too many lives. When David Shepherd (Christopher Egan, "Resident Evil: Extinction"), a brave young soldier, rescues the king's (Golden Globe winner Ian McShane, "Deadwood") son from enemy territory, he sets events in motion that will finally bring peace. David is thrust into the limelight, earning the affections of women -- including the king's daughter. When he's promoted to captain, he becomes the reluctant poster boy for hope. But for David, the line between his allies and enemies will blur as the power players in the kingdom go to great lengths to see him fall. Sebastian Stan ("Gossip Girl") also stars.

"Kings" is a production of Universal Media Studios; Michael Green (NBC's "Heroes") is the executive producer.  Francis Lawrence ("I Am Legend") is the director and executive producer and Erwin Stoff ("I Am Legend") also is executive producer.

Born and raised in Midland, Texas, Michael was trained at Interlochen Arts Academy and The Juilliard School before making his Broadway debut as Tom Sawyer in the 2003 Roundabout/Deaf West revival of "Big River."

He has also appeared off-Broadway in "Bare: a Pop Opera," "Harold and Maude," "It's Only Life: The Songs of John Bucchino" and "Swimming in the Shallows." Michael returned to Broadway two years ago to star in the Twyla Tharp and Bob Dylan musical "The Times They Are A-Changin'." Michael is a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. As a composer, he has worked with As You Like It and Easter Rising.

In the summer of 2007, Michael was one of four Broadway performers who joined Barbra Streisand on her first European concert tour.

Michael Arden covered Joni Mitchell's seminal album "Blue" in it's entirety at Joe's Pub this past October, with new arrangements by Todd Almond and a 5-piece band including Michael Aarons, Jim Hershman, Trey Files and Ruth Bennett.

Arden most recently served as Assistant Director to Warren Carlyle for the Broadway musical, "A TALE OF TWO CITIES".

Michael appeared alongside Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway in "Bride Wars," which was released on January 9, 2009.
