Under Artistic Director Sharon Watson, Phoenix Dance Theatre come to London to perform at the Royal Opera House from Nov 19th for four nights only. Particle Velocity - a programme of four exciting and musically diverse dance works - features All Alight, the debut work for the company from Richard Alston.

This new company repertory programme, a trademark Phoenix Dance Theatre mixed bill, includes another new work for Phoenix from Sharon Watson and Douglas Thorpe and a debut company piece from Jose Agudo. The 8-venue autumn tour kicked-off at Cast, Doncaster on October 8 and opens in London at the Royal Opera House on Nov 19th.

The intricate world of DNA is placed under the microscope in Sharon Watson''s Repetition of Change. Set to a specially commissioned score by Kenneth Hesketh, this engaging piece uses volatile, impulsive and often sensual dance to unravel the complexities of our genetic code. For performances in London members of contemporary music ensemble Psappha will be performing this astounding score live, whilst at all other venues the piece will be performed to a specially made recording by the ensemble.

One of the most inspiring and influential choreographers in British dance, Richard Alston''s All Alight features seven dancers in a lyrically beautiful new work - his first for Phoenix. Featuring his trademark instinctive musicality, this elegant, graceful piece is set to the emotive score of Ravel''s Sonata for Violin and Cello.

Douglas Thorpe''s Tender Crazy Love sees a couple pushed to the extremes of desire - where what pulls them together also threatens to tear them apart. A blistering duet, this passionate new work features Douglas'' trademark raw, visceral choreography set to a Tarantino-like soundtrack of classic songs and hidden gems. Jose Agudo''s first work for Phoenix is a tale of one boy''s journey to become legend. Inspired by Genghis Khan''s extraordinary life story, Ki is a ferocious, ritualistic solo which uses powerful, physical dance to show a man seizing control of his own destiny.
