Come and go as you please to a blow-out comedy block party!
WIT's IMPROV-A-PALOOZA! comedy festival event has grown exponentially over the past four years. What started out as a bunch of slap-dash ten-minute improv bits on a Saturday evening has exploded into a three-day marathon with over a hundred shows featuring hundreds of improvisers.
IMPROV-A-PALOOZA! features classic shows from the past such as "Bad Walken," where every player in the show is Christopher Walken; "La Famila," where all the improvisers have to be actual Italians and begin the show by handing out cannoli to everyone in the audience; and WIRT: Washington Improv Radio Theater, a take-off on the golden years of radio. It also provides a showcase for dozens of new pieces like "International Haus of Gaga," where you meet the team of creative geniuses behind the world's most sensational performer and "Date Tara," where one lucky audience member will come up and spend a first date pizza dinner with improviser Tara Maher.

WASHINGTON IMPROV THEATER'S Neutrino Video Project
August 13 - September 11
FR & SA at 8PM - $15
Source 1835 14th St, NW
Info/Tix: www.washingtonimprovtheater.com or 202.204.7770

WIT's critically acclaimed movie format is improvised in the streets and business of 14th street as you watch it live in the theater being musically scored in real time. Beginning with a suggestion and props from the audience, the cast and crew race out to film and by the time the end of the last scene they run back in. It's an artistic challenge for the 9 improvisers and a logistical crucible for the 9 crew members. Completely unscripted, totally unpredictable, and fun as hell, the only way to see if it all comes together is to be there to see it all go down.
DC Examiner: "The Neutrino instant movie phenomenon is like nothing you've ever experienced" The Post Express - "Night Out" : "Gives improvisation a digital facelift ... WIT has taken the great idea and run with it." Washington Post Weekend Section: "You try ... to find a sofa on which to 'make love.' In public. With a clock ticking."
