RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH Continues The Rep's 48th Season, Now thru 12/28

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash created by Richard Maltby, Jr., conceived by William Meade, adapted from the Broadway Production by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Jason Edwards and directed by Jason Edwards. This energetic musical will be performed on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road (on the campus of Webster University), Webster Groves, tonight, December 3-December 28, 2014.

Featuring a company of multi-talented performers and over 30 hits from his iconic songbook, this spirited musical takes you on a journey through the life and career of The Man in Black. Exploring love, faith, struggle and success, songs such as "A Boy Named Sue," "Daddy Sang Bass," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Jackson" and "I Walk the Line" tell the story of Johnny Cash in a salute to this unique American legend.

The cast of Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash at The Rep is Trenna Barnes, Allison Briner, Jason Edwards and Derek Keeling. The band is Walter Hartman (drums), Brantley Kearns (fiddle), Jeff Lisenby (keyboard, accordion), John W. Marshall (upright bass), Brent Moyer (electric and acoustic guitar, trumpet) and Andrew Platt (electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin and harmonica).

The Rep's production of Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash is directed by Jason Edwards.

The creative staff also includes Jeff Lisenby, musical director; Denise Patton, choreographer; John Iacovelli, set designer; Lou Bird, costume designer; Kenton Yeager, lighting designer; Joe Payne, sound and projection designer; Rich Cole, casting director; Emilee Buchheit, stage manager; and Lionel A. Christian, assistant stage manager.

Curtain times are Tuesday at 7 pm; Wednesday - Friday at 8 pm; selected Wednesday matinees at 1:30 pm; Saturday matinees at 5 pm; selected Saturday nights at 9 pm; Sunday matinees at 2 pm; and selected Sunday evenings at 7 pm. Due to the holiday additional performances have been added on Monday, December 22 at 7 pm, as well as a matinee performance on Friday, December 26 at 1:30 pm. There will be no performances on Wednesday, December 24 or Thursday, December 25.

Due to high demand, The Rep is happy to announce that seats have been added to the following performances of Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash:

Wednesday, December 10, 1:30pm
Saturday, December 13, 5pm

The Rep is partnering with the Saint Louis Art Museum to enhance the patron experience of Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash. Participants can take a free one-hour tour through SLAM's collection highlighting The Color Black in lyrical, staccato and rhythmic forms.
