Family Musical Theater's SWEENEY TODD to Play Ivory Theatre, 7/18-27
It will indeed be a warm and intriguing introduction to the summer season when Family Musical Theater takes to the stage for their second show of the season, "Sweeney Todd". Sweeney Todd has become a bloody, worldwide success since being awarded 8 Tony awards, one of them for Best Musical, for its Broadway premiere. Adapted to film by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as the title role, Sweeney has slashed his way across entertainment mediums.
The thrill of live theater is augmented, however, by the power of giving back to the community. A portion of the proceeds from the performances of "Sweeney Todd" will benefit Support Dogs, Inc., a St. Louis-based non-profit
that provides service dogs and pet therapy to those in need in St. Louis and nationwide. FMT is thrilled to support SDI for a seventh straight season, and looks forward to continuing to raise money and awareness for this special group.
