On July 31, 2010, Ravinia Festival will honor great American composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim on the occasion of his 80th birthday, with an all-star cast of soloists who have been featured in Ravinia's musical initiative. The evening reunites the on-stage and behind-the-scenes talents that created Ravinia Festival's acclaimed productions of the Sondheim shows A Little Night Music, Passion, Sunday in the Park with George, Anyone Can Whistle, Sweeney Todd and Gypsy, among others. Highlights of these musicals will be presented by Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Michael Cerveris and George Hearn, under the baton of Paul Gemignani and the direction of Lonny Price.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Laura Linney ('John Adams,' The Savages) will play the lead role in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming New York premiere of TIME STANDS STILL by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies. The limited engagement, to be directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Accent on Youth, Sight Unseen on Broadway, Brooklyn Boy, Dinner with Friends) will begin previews at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in preparation for a Thursday, January 28, 2010 opening night. The production had previously been announced to play MTC's New York City Center - Stage I.

The singer, director and actress has reached an agreement with Viking for 'A Passion for Design,' an illustrated book scheduled for fall 2010 that includes photos of the Malibu, Calif., oceanfront compound she worked on for more than five years, and of other residences, back to her early years in New York.
