Winner of nine Tony Awards and with a record-breaking Broadway run, Fiddler on the Roof has become an American classic. The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters, who wish to marry for love – each one's choice of a husband moves further away from the customs of his faith – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.
Aurora Theatre Company’s Fiddler on the Roof stars Michael Delos as Tevye. The cast of 26 includes Monika Bauer, Dane Chevassus, Leroy Chin, David Clement, Susan Conners, Michael Crowley, Katyra Frazier, Antoine Germain, David Alexander Katz, Lily Kister, Anne-Marie Lake, Annie Morro, Anna Noelle Mulia, Glenn Nielsen, Hayoun Oh, David Persson, Dima Pogrebniak, Kyla Roberts, Daniel Ray Siller, Elise Soper, Richie Allen Stone, Margaret West, Wendy Woolery, Corrie Lyn Yaden and Ferandi Yennas. Aurora Theatre Company Artistic Director Scott Charles Francis will direct the production. Dori Baunsgard acts as musical director and conductor of the orchestra. Lindy Lou Smith will recreate the original Jerome Robbins choreography. Costume Coordinator is Allison Taylor and Justin Duffield is Technical Director. Stage Manager Jenifer King rounds out the creative team.
Major sponsorship for Fiddler on the Roof is provided by The City of Shoreline, North City Lumber, Charlie’s Produce, Smeraldo Restaurant, Inc., Ronald United Methodist Church and Gravity Payments. This project was supported, in part, by an award from 4Culture. Additional support comes from over 75 individuals and businesses. Fiddler on the Roof is a featured event of Celebrate Shoreline 2015.
Aurora Theatre Company’s 2014 inaugural production at Shoreline City Hall was Sondheim and Lapine’s Into the Woods. It ran for 5 performances and played to over 1600 patrons. ATC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit community based theatre organization. Be sure to like us on Facebook. Please visit our website: www.auroratheatreshoreline.org
