Review: 'O HOW GOOD' Choral Concert at Central Synagogue
by Joanna Barouch on Mar 30, 2023

It's truly amazing that one can walk by a place and be unaware of it, no matter how important it may be. Or what it looks like inside. I, for one, am not one of those people. I have been curious about New York City's Central Synagogue (in Midtown East) for a long time. And just recently I had the chance to go in and experience not a traditional service but something that surely was a transcendent spiritual moment in a transcendent, historic space.

BWW Reviews: Their Love Is Here To Stay! Marin Mazzie and Jason Daniely Put Their Love Story On Display At The Annenberg Theatre
by David Green on Feb 27, 2013

Broadway's "Golden Couple", Marin Mazzie and Jason DAniely, brought their newest Concert-Cabaret to The Annenberg Theatre last Saturday night to a near-sold-out, highly appreciative crowd and for ninety-plus minutes recounted their personal love story in anecdote and song. ("We've been married for 16 years - which is like 60 years in Show Business") I have to say I was neither overwhelmed nor under-whelmed by the performance - it never really moved me emotionally and was, at best, lukewarm - but I wouldn't say it was completely unsatisfying either.

Photo Coverage: Mary Testa, Jason Danieley & More Celebrate W.S. Gilbert at LYRICS & LYRICISTS
by Stephen Sorokoff on Jan 14, 2013

We all come from Gilbert,' said Johnny Mercer. And if you've seen a musical, watched film or TV, read a book, participated in political discourse or have partaken in any aspect of popular culture during the past 125 years, you've likely been influenced by W. S. Gilbert too. Yet Lyrics & Lyricists has never paid tribute to this seminal figure. Over the weekend, the punishment fits this crime of oversight with The Very Model of a Modern Major Lyricist: W. S. Gilbert and the Broadway He Inspired.
