Kona Morris Will Bring HOW TO POOP IN AN OUTHOUSE AT -58°C to Edinburgh Fringe

Following critical acclaim at New York City Fringe, Kona Morris is set to bring her hilarious, exhilarating, heart-warming show, How to Poop in an Outhouse at -58°C, to Edinburgh Fringe this August.
How to Poop in an Outhouse at -58°C follows Morris, as she tells the astonishing true story of falling in love with a Native Alaskan and moving to a remote village north of the Arctic Circle.
Audiences can expect the thrill of grizzly bears, whirlpools, and northern lights, while learning about life in northern Alaska, and the transformation that happens when someone takes chances and embraces the unknown, as Morris' expert storytelling transports them to the top of the world! Including all the shocking and hilarious tips needed for using an outhouse at -58°C!
Kona Morris is an award-winning storyteller, writer, and educator. She has won The Moth SLAMs in New York City, Los Angeles, and Boston, and she came in first place for the Ojai Storytelling Festival Story Slam, which was judged by Featured Tellers from the International Storytelling Festival. She has been on television shows and podcasts, such as Stories From The Stage (PBS and the WORLD Channel) and the RISK! Podcast. Her episode on Stories From The Stage, entitled, "Getting Away With It," won a 2025 Signal Award. Kona was selected to be one of the 2025 Stone Soup Storytelling Festival New Voices. She starred in Denver's Live Drunk History Comedy Troupe, where she was Editor-in-Chief of Fast Forward Press, helped to run the F-Bomb Flash Fiction Reading Series, and spent 14 years teaching literature, mythology, and creative writing courses to college students. Kona's stories, articles, and prose poems have appeared in a variety of publications, and she has been featured at literary readings, writing conferences, storytelling events, and comedy shows around the world. Kona teaches storytelling craft workshops to inspire others to tell their stories.
How to Poop in an Outhouse at -58°C is directed by Padraic Lillis, who for the past twenty years, has been dedicated to the development of new plays, artists, and companies. A few of the plays that he has worked on from inspiration to production are Lindsay Joy's Rise and Fall of a Teenage Cyberqueen (awarded NY IT Award for Outstanding Director
and Outstanding Production), Lee Kaplan's award winning solo show Bully (awarded NY International Fringe Festival's Overall Excellence Award for Directing), Scott Hudson's play Sweet Storm, and Adina Taubman's award winning solo show A Line in the Sand (a docudrama based on the school shootings at Columbine). Padraic was awarded the Humana Visiting Scholar and Artist in Residence at Centre College and was awarded the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Artist Fellowship to be in residence at Carlton College. He is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz.
How to Poop in an Outhouse at -58°C is performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 7th - 29th August (not 16th and 23rd) at 12.45pm (60 mins), Ivy Studio at Greenside @ George Street (venue number 236).
