Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Returns To ATL For Its 60th Anniversary Season

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre, February 21 - 24, 2019, as part of a 60th Anniversary North American tour, for six breathtaking performances that promise to uplift, unite and enlighten. Ailey's 32 incomparable dancers invite Atlantans to join in a celebration of Mr. Ailey through a variety of works celebrating his life and legacy. The engagement also includes a Family Matinee program on Saturday, February 23 at 2 p.m., which features a post-performance Q&A with the dancers.

DeVotchKa Announce New Midwest Tour Dates

The multi-genre ensemble DeVotchKa have announced new Midwest tour dates in support of the critically acclaimed album This Night Falls Forever. These dates follow a line of performances across the US and Europe. Tickets go on sale Thursday, December 20. Neyla Pekarek, formerly of The Lumineers, is confirmed as the supporting act and this will be her live debut as a solo artist.

New York Theatre Ballet's Once Upon A Ballet Series Presents Keith Michael's THE NUTCRACKER

New York Theatre Ballet announces the company's 2018-19 performances of their critically acclaimed Once Upon a Ballet series geared to audiences ages 3 and up and running time of one hour for young attention spans. This season's offerings include: Keith Michael's The Nutcracker from December 14-16, 2018 and Cinderella February 9 & 10, 2019 at Florence Gould Hall, 55 E 59th St, New York, NY 10022. Craft Recordings to Release Feelin' Right Saturday Night: The Ric & Ron Anthology Today

Craft Recordings has announced the release of Feelin' Right Saturday Night: The Ric & Ron Anthology,in celebration of the 60th anniversary of pioneering New Orleans R&B label Ric Records and its sister label Ron Records. The CD and digital formats are due out on December 7th, following the exclusive double-LP package releasing on Record Store Day Black Today on November 23rd. The compilation features classics from Professor Longhair, Irma Thomas, Eddie Bo and Al Johnson, along with the Joe Jones hit 'You Talk Too Much' and two previously unreleased tracks-a demo of 'Tipitina' by Professor Longhair and 'Good Enough For Me' by Eddie Bo. New liner notes by GRAMMY®-winning producer Scott Billington round out the package.

The Killers' Dave Keuning Releases New Single BOAT ACCIDENT, Plus Announces 2019 Tour Dates

The Killers' founding member and guitarist Dave Keuning has debuted his new single “Boat Accident.” The upbeat track and animated video showcase Keuning's knack for crafting hooks and creative visuals. “Boat Accident” gives fans yet another preview of Keuning's 14-track debut album, Prismism, which will be released on January 25, 2019. The new album, written and recorded by Dave in his San Diego home studio, was taken from hundreds of voice memos that he stockpiled while on tour with The Killers over the last decade that evolved into songs (pre-order here). Sundance Film Festival Announces 2019 Film Lineup

The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 24 - February 3, 2019.

BWW Review: Washington Concert Opera Serves Up a Seductive SAPHO

If you have ever attended an opera and thought 'all of these sets and costumes are so incredibly distracting' then Washington Concert Opera would be right up your alley. Stripping away the grandiose of an opera production, WCO presents their works in their most raw form: with just an orchestra, a chorus, and principles who sing their hearts out. This minimalist style isn't likely to convert opera skeptics, but it is a great way to deepen one's appreciation for the art form. Their most recent presentation of Charles Gounod's first opera, Sapho, benefits from some strong lead performances. It's just a shame that the libretto isn't better.

DeVotchKa Announce New Tour Dates

The multi-genre ensemble DeVotchKa have announced new tour dates in support of the critically acclaimed album This Night Falls Forever. This includes stops in New York City, Brooklyn, Somerville, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and two homecoming shows at The Bluebird Theater in Denver. Local supporters KBCO, Westword, and Twist & Shout will present the Denver show. These dates follow a string of scheduled performances across Europe. Tickets are on sale to the public Friday, November 9 at 10:00am local time.
