Joseph Macchia produced his first show in 1997 a show called Gwen Verdon and All Her Jazz, a show his brother Peter had written and starred in. Being bit by the producing bug, Joseph would go on to produce his brother's next show Judy and Me originally a one night solo show at the Duplex, Judy and Me would be turned into a play, and was booked for four nights at Rose's Turn. Where the show would wind up running for two years and then go and tour around the country. After Judy and Me toured the show took a break before returning to New York in an Off Off Broadway Run and then Off Broadway run. The Q Returns to the Metropolitan Room this Fall. Joseph Macchia producer and creator is bringing back his talk show The Q Joining Joseph on the panel will be Thomas Dieter and Shawn Moninger and Special Guest Host Marcus Phillips . There has been The View, The Chew and The Talk but nothing like The Q ...and it's hosted by all gay men who vary in interests, abilities and backgrounds. There's the Long Islander with a leathery past, the free-spirited southern boy with a thing for attention, and the reverend who knows a thing or two about what's GOOD. They sing, they joke, they talk, and they're up for most anything. Special guests to include singers and musicians, comics and writers, florists and sex-toy store owners, among others. Specialty Topics and more to be discussed.

 Minda Larsen eeked out a MetroStar win last night, finishing on top of a strong and tightly matched Top Five line-up in a spellbinding contest finale at the Metropolitan Room.  To win the 8th annual MetroStar Talent Challenge Larsen captivated the judges with her confessional and inspirational story of having competed in the contest three other times (unsuccessfully) and dramatically changing her attitude about her work this time around.  The attitude adjustment succeeded as Larsen soared in the finale, beating out the delightful everyman Thomas Dieter (1st runner-up) and gloriously-voiced Josephine Sanges (2nd runner up). The two other Top 5 finalists were Lisa Remick and April Leonhard.
