Drew Seeley to Join & Chelsea Morgan to Take Over THE LITTLE MERMAID as Eric and Ariel

Producer Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions is pleased to announce DREW SEELEY, star of ?Another Cinderella Story,? as Prince Eric and CHELSEA MORGAN STOCK as Ariel in THE LITTLE MERMAID. Stock will begin on Tuesday, June 2 and Seeley will appear in the show Tuesday, June 9 though Sunday, August 30 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater (205 West 46th Street).

RIALTO CHATTER: Is 'Ariel' Role 'Part' of Chelsea Morgan Stock's 'World'? 'LITTLE MERMAID' Ensemble Member Rumored as New Lead

Online sources are reporting that The Little Mermaid ensemble member Chelsea Morgan Stock has won the leading role of Ariel and will be replacing current star Sierra Boggess when Boggess leaves the production to create the role of Christine Daae in the upcoming sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, 'LOVE NEVER DIES'. Stock has some experience playing the lovelorn Ariel as she has understudied the role since the hit show opened on Broadway. Reports indicate that Chelsea Morgan Stock will take over in June 2009.

THE LITTLE MERMAID Holding Auditions for 'Ariel' Replacement in a Number of Cities

Disney Theatrical Productions recently celebrated the one-year Broadway anniversary of THE LITTLE MERMAID on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street, NYC). A new casting notice on Disney's web site states: 'Disney on Broadway is casting a new star for our sparkling new musical, THE LITTLE MERMAID...'

'The Little Mermaid' Swims on Broadway, New Opening Jan.10

The new Broadway production of Disney's The Little Mermaid will resume performances tonight, Thursday, November 29. Prior to the canceled performances due to the recent labor dispute, the show played five sold out previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). The previously scheduled opening night of December 6 has been cancelled and The Little Mermaid will now have its official press opening on Thursday, January 10 at 8PM.
