Photo Flash: Broadway Stay INDECENT Celebrates 100th Show

INDECENT, Paula Vogel's award-winning play at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street), celebrated its 100thperformance on Broadway last night. The production, the miracle on 48th Street, originally scheduled to close on June 25, was instead extended for six more weeks, running through August 6, as a result of increased ticket sales and passionate audience response.

Olivier Award-winning director Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984) ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre. La Jolla Playhouse Celebrates COME FROM AWAY, INDECENT Tony Nominations

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that the world-premiere, Playhouse-born productions of Come From Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by David Hein and Irene Sankoff and direction by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, and Indecent, by Paula Vogel, have both received multiple Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, Obie and Lucille Lortel Award nominations for their subsequent Broadway and/or Off-Broadway productions this season.

'Everybody wants passion,' says Ivo van Hove in the programme interview for his latest show, but in both tone and aesthetic, his take on this doomed romance is less red-hot fire of ardour, more the cold, grey ash left in the wake of a consuming flame. It's intermittently beautiful and thoughtful, but lacks the necessary fervour that binds lover to lover, and audience to material.

The producers of the hit Broadway revival of New York City Center's production Sunday in the Park with George starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford, announced today that the show will live on past its critically acclaimed, sold-out limited engagement, with a cast album to be released this summer by Warner Music Group.

Rush Ticket Policy Will Continue Through Run SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE

Hot off last week's historic opening night, the producers of Sunday in the Park with George are pleased to announce the show will continue to offer a limited number of tickets $41 each, to celebrate the re-opening of Hudson Theatre as it becomes Broadway's 41st theater.  All $41 tickets will be available at Hudson Theatre box office (139-141 West 44th Street) on the day of the performance when the box office opens.

The Cort Theatre box office will open Monday, February 27 at noon for INDECENT, the newest work by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE), it was announced today by producersDaryl Roth, Elizabeth Ireland McCann and Cody Lassen. INDECENT begins previews Tuesday, April 4 and opens Tuesday, April 18 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues).

Color and Light Land on Broadway Tonight in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE

Ambassador Theatre Group's Broadway revival of the New York City Center production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning Sunday in the Park with George re-opens the historic Hudson Theatre (139-141 West 44th Street) on Broadway tonight, February 23rd, for a 10-week engagement. Directed by Sarna Lapine, performances will play through Sunday, April 23rd.
