Juxtapositions create a multifaceted whole in Dance Innovations: counter/point, the latest production of York University's Department of Dance. York's rising young dance artists are featured in this choreographic showcase, with two distinctive programs of newl works running Nov. 28 to 30 in the McLean Performance Studio, 244 Accolade East Building on York's Keele campus.

Dallas Theater Center brings a brand new adaptation of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol to the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the first time. DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty wrote the new adaptation and will direct the holiday favorite, with choreography by Joel Ferrell. A Christmas Carol makes its Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre debut on November 21 and runs through December 24. Red Branch Theatre Company's Executive Producer Stephanie Williams and Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes unveiled the titles for the 2014 season this past weekend at the company's opening of Tick, tick... BOOM! Starting the season off with a bang on St. Patrick's Day (March 17, 2014), renowned American musical theatre composer Jason Robert Brown will present a benefit cabaret entitled 'I Could Be In Love With Someone Like You.' Howard County restaurant Iron Bridge Wine Company will cater the affair with Irish-themed favorites. All proceeds will benefit Red Branch Theatre Company's 2014 operating budget. This promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event given the opportunity to see this prominent composer in a rare concert appearance in the theatre's intimate space.

Red Branch Theatre Company will host a family friendly production of Bunnicula from October 26th to 28th Drama Learning Center. The weekend will include kid-friendly Halloween fun including a Parents' Night Out Pajama Party on Friday, October 26th, Family Fun ticket packages for Saturday and Sunday matinees, and Halloween costume contests and prizes.

For the cast of Red Branch Theatre Company's Avenue Q the only thing that was supposed to be special about last Sunday's performance was that it was the first matinee of its run. However, after the final curtain they learned that they had just performed for the show's original award-winning composer, Jeff Marx. Check out a photo of Marx with the cast below!

Red Branch Theatre Company unveiled the first look of the puppets they commissioned for their upcoming production of Avenue Q. The puppets were handcrafted by professional artisan Kaitlen Sousa from New England.

The Dallas Opera has announced details on its 250thproduction: a haunting and evocative 1980 chamber opera masterpiece, THE LIGHTHOUSE, by British composer Peter Maxwell Davies, opening Friday, March 16, 2012 at 7:30 PM in collaboration with the Dallas Theater Center.

The Dallas Opera will offer the remaining tickets for the three performances that will launch the company's exciting, new chamber opera series to the general public, in the nick of time for holiday gift giving.
