New Yorkers of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds are being asked to gather on Sunday, February 19th, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm in New York's Times Square, (at the corner of 48thStreet & Broadway, Manhattan) and join hip-hop pioneer Russell Simmons and prominent religious leaders to declare their solidarity with American Muslims who have recently been impacted by discriminatory rhetoric and a travel ban by the Trump Administration.

The latest production of the Westport Community Theatre, Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley, takes the stage from February 10 through 26. Doubt won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama and Tony Award for Best Play. Kevin Pelkey directs the WCT production, with an outstanding local cast of Kristen Gagliardi, Tondrea Mabins, T. Mounting something as complex as a Chekov play is not an easy undertaking and should only be handled by professionals. Luckily, in Seattle, we have the Seagull Project who has been tackling these works the last few years including the absolutely incredible "Three Sisters" they put up a few years back. But as crystal clear the intent of the characters in their current production of "The Cherry Orchard" at ACT is, thanks to the stellar performances and direction, I wonder if the translation they chose isn't doing them any favors as I was never quite certain who many of these people were.
