Based on the book by Elizabeth Strout, OLIVE KITTERIDGE is written by Jane Anderson and centers on Olive (McDormand), who lives in a New England town full of affairs, crime and tragedy. Gallagher, Jr. will play Christopher Kitteridge, the son of Olive and Henry (Jenkins). Zoe Kazan, Jesse Plemons, and John Gallagher, Jr. also recently boarded the series.
Sarbino will play the eldest child in the family. According to THR, Sarbino's character, Kendra, is 'a typical teen, isolating herself from her family to focus on her friendships. But when she realizes that her new home feeds on the isolation of others, she must band together with her family to help save her youngest sibling.'

Variety reports that Josh Close (The Master) has signed on for KILL THE MESSENGER, directed by Michael Cuesta for Focus Features. Close joins previously announced stars Jeremy Renner, Rosemarie DeWitt and Paz Vega.
According to Deadline.com, Rosemarie DeWitt is the latest actress to join Jeremy Renner in Focus Features' KILL THE MESSENGER, adapted from the book by Nick Schou and helmed by Michael Cuesta, with a script penned by Peter Landesman. DeWitt is in final negotiations for the female lead. Paz Vega also recently joined the cast.

Promised Land is the new contemporary drama directed by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk). Matt Damon plays Steve Butler, an ace corporate salesman who is sent along with his partner, Sue Thomason (Frances McDormand), to close a key rural town in his company's expansion plans. With the town having been hit hard by the economic decline of recent years, the two outsiders see the local citizens as likely to accept their company's offer, for drilling rights to their properties, as much-needed relief.
