The Chicago Park District's 58th annual Theater on the Lake season features reprisals of eight artistically diverse Chicago theater companies June 16 - Aug. 8, 2010. The season opens with The Second City's 50th Anniversary Revue (June 16-20) and continues with popular productions by Bohemian Theatre Ensemble (June 23-27), A Red Orchid Theatre (June 30-July 4), Baby Wants Candy (July 7-11), Strawdog Theatre Company (July 14-18), Rivendell Theatre Company (July 21-25), The Gift Theatre Company (July 28 - Aug. 1), and Caffeine Theatre (Aug. 4-8).
GLADD Media, Lucille Lortel and OBIE Award winner Colman Domingo - who last season was seen on The Vineyard stage twice, first in his Lucille Lortel Award-winning autobiographical play A BOY AND HIS SOUL and most recently in the Kander and Ebb musical THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, and who will play Billy Flynn in CHICAGO on Broadway this summer - will host Vineyard Theatre's 2010 Spring Luncheon and the presentation of the 3rd Annual Paula Vogel Playwrighting Award to emerging playwright Kara Lee Corthron on Thursday, June 17 from 12pm to 2pm at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan.
Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), the professional producing arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, continues its Nutmeg Summer Series with the David Ives' comedy, All in the Timing, playing June 10 through 20, 2010 in the Nafe Katter Theatre. The preview performance takes place on June 10 at 7:30 p.m. , and Opening Night is June 11 at 8 p.m.

First presented on Broadway in 1934, Dodsworth has not received a professional production in New York since, but will be revived at Metropolitan's home at 220 E 4th Street May 15th through June 6th, 2010.

Today, with the announcement of its annual awards, the Outer Critics Circle recognized two shows developed at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Carrie Fisher won the award for Outstanding Solo Performance with Wishful Drinking, and Kevin Adams of American Idiot was honored for Outstanding Lighting Design. The Outer Critics Circle - the official organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications, and other media beyond Broadway - has given awards since 1950.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will hold auditions on Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11 for children interested in performing in the 2010 production of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, presented by KeyBank.
