After a successful KickStarter campaign, the hit web comedy THE RESIDUALS has wrapped on its second season, which will debut exclusively on BroadwayWorld early in 2015. The series, created by and starring husband and wife Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, focuses on the unusual world of auditioning for commercials. Season Two features all of the kooky characters from the first season, and will feature Broadway's Jenna Leigh Green (WICKED, TV's SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH), SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Horatio Sanz, and commercial icon Michael Torpey.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Broadway production this fall, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater mounts a new staging of Fiddler on the Roof, the iconic musical that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Helmed by Artistic Director Molly Smith, the production features choreography by Arena favoriteParker Esse, who adapts the original Jerome Robbins choreography for an in-the-round staging, and a 10-piece orchestra led by Musical Director Paul Sportelli (Arena's My Fair Lady, Light in the Piazza). The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Youth Orchestras (CSOYO) open their 2014-2015 season on November 10 at 7:30pm at Ringgold High School with a concert performed by the Symphony Orchestra with Gary Wilkes conducting. Also featured in the program is the 2nd place winner of the 2014 Concerto Competition, Nacor Lantigua. The final selections on the program are the last two movements of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade.

On the first ever World Ballet Day, October 1st 2014, I postponed watching the video stream of five top ballet companies in favor of attending what turned out to be a mesmerizing mixed bill featuring Balanchine ballets to the music of Stravinsky at the Koch Theater in Lincoln Center. YouTube can wait for me to catch up on the video stream later, but being in the audience at a live performance is always a one-time experience never to be recaptured except in the mind's eye.

The 48th season for the Alhambra Theatre & Dining promises a diverse nine-show slate with seven shows never before seen at the Alhambra. It will also feature three Broadway and pop culture veterans: Lisa Whelchel, who starred as Blair in NBC's 'Facts of Life,' 80's pop icon Debbie Gibson, and Charles Shaughnessy, who rose to prominence on the CBS hit, 'The Nanny.' Season Packages and individual-show tickets went on sale to the general public on October 1, said Managing Partner Craig Smith. Smith also announced the Alhambra's new website, making access to the Alhambra simpler and more dynamic.
