The Old Globe presents the revival of N. Richard Nash's classic romantic comedy The Rainmaker. Directed by Maria Mileaf, The Rainmaker will run July 13 - August 11, 2013 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 13 - July 17. Juilliard's Drama Division announces the 2013-2014 season of fully-staged productions featuring Juilliard's 43rd group of acting students in their fourth and final year in the drama program at Juilliard. This season's plays include Jeffrey Hatcher's Smash, directed by Victor Pappas; Amy Herzog's The Great God Pan, directed by Maria Mileaf; and Sam Shepard's Buried Child, directed by Daniel Fish. All performances take place in the Stephanie P. McClelland Drama Theater at Juilliard.
SOUL DOCTOR Announces General Rush Policy!

The new Broadway musical Soul Doctor, about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone, has announced its general rush ticket policy for all performances beginning with the first preview on Wednesday, July 17 at 8pm at Circle in the Square Theatre (1600 Broadway, entrance on 40th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue). The limited number of $30 general rush tickets will be available each day at the box office beginning at10am for that day's performance(s) only. Limit of 2 tickets per person, on a first-come / first-served basis. Soul Doctor will have its official opening on Thursday, August 15. General tickets are $135 and can be purchased through www.SoulDoctorBroadway.com, by calling (212) 239-6200, or at the Circle in the Square box office. Internationally recognized for its adventurous opera and classical music programming, Spoleto Festival USA offers an eclectic program of music and opera for its 37th season. In addition to the American premiere of Matsukaze-the first of Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa's operas to be produced in the United States-the program includes American premiere performances of P?teris Vasks' Credo and Pierre Boulez's arrangement of Ravel's Frontispice. Also to be performed are a double-bill of rarely performed Italian operas, Puccini's Le Villi and Giordano's Mese Mariano, and Verdi's Messa da Requiem conducted by Joseph Flummerfelt in his farewell appearance as Spoleto's Artistic Director for Choral Activities.

Following its run at The Public Theater, Detroit '67, the much buzzed-about play by two-time NAACP Image Award recipient, Dominique Morisseau, will open at the National Black Theatre tonight, March 23. Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, the powerful drama will run through Sunday, April 14, presented by Time Warner. Billed as 'Uptown Meets Downtown,' the production is a collaboration between the Classical Theatre of Harlem (Ty Jones, Producing Artistic Director), National Black Theatre (Sade Lythcott, CEO; Nabii Faison, General Manager and The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Patrick Willingham, Executive Director).
