THE MAY QUEEN at The Cape Playhouse

The May Queen, the sassy, new office comedy, has its Cape Playhouse premiere as the fourth play in in the historic theatre's 90th anniversary season. Directed by Amanda Charlton, it plays a two week engagement, July 26 - August 6; press night is set for Tuesday, July 26 at 7:30 pm.

The chewing gum and shoe string holding Eddie's head up is beginning to wane- teetering him on the edge of devastation. He is now thrust back into reality trying to grasp the circumstance that landed him in this specific bar on this specific night. The dark loneliness of long, distant drives in his vocation were nothing compared to his present despair.

ALLEGIANCE's George Takei Boards PACIFIC OVERTURES at Classic Stage Company

International City Theatre to Stage Pulitzer Prize Winner DOUBT

A riveting psychological drama that explores the fine line between truth and ambiguity, Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley is one of the most acclaimed plays in American theater history. Producing artistic director caryn desai [sic] helms a new production for an August 19 opening at International City Theatre. Two low-priced previews take place on Aug. 17 and Aug. 18.

2016 Mimi Awards Date Set; Honoree to be Announced in September

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that the Ninth Annual "Mimi" Awards will be presented on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Lincoln Center Theater.  The "Mimi" Awards are presented annually to honor the outstanding artistry and accomplishments of some of the most gifted American playwrights.

Victory Gardens Theater announces the lineup for the 2016 IGNITION Festival of New Plays, including The Wayward Bunny by Greg Kotis; BREACH: a manifesto on race in America through the eyes of a black girl recovering from self-hate by Antoinette Nwandu; EOM (end of message) by Laura Jacqmin; Kill Move Paradise by James Ijames; Gaza Rehearsal by Karen Hartman; and Girls In Cars Underwater by Tegan McLeod. MTC to Honor Two-Time Tony Winner Nathan Lane at 2016 Fall Benefit

Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove have announced that Manhattan Theatre Club will present its 2016 Fall Benefit, honoring two-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, on Monday evening, November 7 at 583 Park Avenue (63rd Street and Park Avenue).

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Casey Reitz, Executive Director) has announced three New York Premiere productions for its upcoming 38th season. The season will kick off in October 2016 with the New York Premiere ofNOTES FROM THE FIELD: DOING TIME IN EDUCATION, the latest work created, written and performed by groundbreaking theatre artist Anna Deavere Smith and directed by Leonard Foglia. This marks Ms. Smith and Mr. Foglia's return to Second Stage Theatre, where their previous collaboration, Let Me Down Easy, had its New York Premiere in 2008.
