Profiles Theatre Announces Extension for Midwest Premiere of COCK thru 5/25

Profiles Theatre announces an extension for their Midwest premiere of Cock by Mike Bartlett, directed by Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox. The production opened February 20, 2014 and will extend for an additional seven weeks through May 25, 2014. Original cast members Eleni Pappageorge, Christopher Sheard and Jake Szczepaniak continue their roles with Torrey Hanson joining the cast beginning April 10, 2014. Performances are held at The Main Stage, 4139 N. Broadway.

Richard Thomas & Kristen Connolly Set for The Old Globe's OTHELLO

The Old Globe today announced two of the stars of Shakespeare's classic tragedy Othello, the first show of the Globe's 2014 Summer Shakespeare Festival. Making their Globe debuts are Emmy Award-winner Richard Thomas ('The Americans,' 'The Waltons') as Iago and Kristen Connolly ('House of Cards,' The Cabin in the Woods) as Desdemona. Both artists continue collaborations with Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein that began in New York: Thomas starred in Edelstein's critically acclaimed production of Timon of Athens at The Public Theater in 2011, and Connolly in three Shakespeare plays that Edelstein helped produce at The Public. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Straight from Joe's Pub, The Real Americans, a compelling and uniquely galvanizing new work written and performed by Dan Hoyle, joins The Junket, a new, hilariously scandalous solo show based on scandalous actual events, written and performed by Mike Albo, coming to Culture Project from an extended run at Dixon Place. Performances began March 13rd and will run until April 20th at the Lynn Redgrave Theater (45 Bleecker Street, NYC). York Little Theatre Stages BAT BOY, Begin. Today

York Little Theatre (YLT) will present the rock 'n' roll cult classic, Bat Boy: The Musical opening today, March 21. Based on the grocery store tabloid, Weekly World News, Bat Boy: The Musical is a B-movie themed musical comedy with an extraordinary score. The show is directed by Aaron Dalton with music direction by Nick Werner. Dalton was the director of the award winning CABARET that ran last March at YLT. CABARET won best musical in Central PA from BROADWAY WORLD.COM.

Today, Red Bull Theater announced the cast for their Staged Reading of The Roaring Girl, by Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton: Emily Bergl (of Showtime's 'Shameless'), Sheila Bandyopadhyay, Michael Braun, Clifton Duncan, Miriam Hyman, Whit Leyenberger, David Manis, Alex Morf, Tom O'Keefe, Bhavesh Patel, Pearl Rhein, Rocco Sisto, Raphael Nash Thompson, Sam Tsoutsouvas, and Lisa Wolpe. The Roaring Girl will be directed by Ben Prusiner and will take place Monday March 24th at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theater, 121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets.
