'ENTER LAUGHING', DanceBrazil, POTTED POTTER and More Set for Wallis Annenberg Center's 2014-15 Season

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces its theater, music, dance, lectures and Theater for Young Audiences programming for the 2014-2015 Season, which begins October 7-19 with the Edinburgh-based Puppet State Theatre Company production of The Man Who Planted Trees in the Lovelace Studio Theater; and in the Bram Goldsmith Theater a new lecture series in partnership with Writers Bloc, presenting a conversation with Leon Panetta on October 15 and Marsalis Well Tempered: An Evening with Branford Marsalis featuring the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia on October 16.

WCP, Goodspeed, The O'Neill, Hartford Stage, Yale Rep and Long Wharf Join Together for PLAY! IN CONNECTICUT Fall 2014 Festival

Today, the Connecticut Office of Tourism announced that from October 23-26, Connecticut's Flagship Producing Theatres will be hosting a vibrant weekend festival of plays, musicals and theatre events at six regional theatres across the state. From classics to new works, to conferences and talks, theatregoers can attend one show or six while enjoying special overnight packages and dining discounts.

Long Wharf Theatre to Kick Off 50th Season With OUR TOWN, Feb 26

Using a cast entirely comprised of alumni and members of the community, Long Wharf Theatre begins its 50th anniversary season with Our Town by Thornton Wilder, directed by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein, from October 8 through November 2, 2014 on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre.

Lark Play Development Center Announces 2014-15 Playwrights Workshop Fellows

The Lark Play Development Center named five New York City-based playwrights as Playwrights' Workshop Fellows for the 2014-15 season. The group spans a wide range of backgrounds and professional experiences and will meet regularly throughout the year to develop new plays.

Reed Birney and Brooke Bloom to Star in YOU GOT OLDER World Premiere at HERE

PAGE 73 has announced the world premiere of YOU GOT OLDER, a new play by 2014 P73 Playwriting Fellow Clare Barron. Directed by Obie Award-winner Anne Kauffman, YOU GOT OLDER will star Tony Award nominee Reed Birney and Brooke Bloom and begins previews on October 29, 2014 on the Mainstage at HERE (145 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10013-1548). YOU GOT OLDER's opening date is currently set for November 6, 2014 and runs through November 22, 2014.

Stephen Wallem Will Bring A BURLEY NIGHT MUSIC to Birdland Tonight

Birdland: Jazz Club NYC, presents Stephen Wallem in 'A Burley Night Music' the concert, with direction by Tony-nominee John Tartaglia and musical direction by Beckie Menzie, is a musical and anecdotal retrospective of a very high voice trapped in a very large body. Featuring song from Wallem's big and/or 'simple' guy roles including Shrek in Shrek the musical, Hazel in Pipe Dreams, and Horton the Elephant in Seussical, as well as songs from Hairspray, Elf, Anna Nicole the Opera, The Land Before Time and The Addams Family, all celebrating the big-boned beauty of Broadway and Hollywood. Directed by Tony-nominee John Tartaglia, with original songs, a three-piece band and surprise celebrity guest appearances.

SHARON TATE IN HEAVEN Returns to New York City Tonight

Sharon Tate in Heaven, presented by This American Blonde Actress and Mississippi Mud Productions, returns for a limited special New York City run today, August 8th-11th, followed by two special dates in Lido Beach, New York August 16th and 17th.

Stephen Lee Anderson, Stephen Bogardus, Patti Cohenour and More to Lead Steve Martin's BRIGHT STAR at The Old Globe; Walter Bobbie Directs!

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

Jen Danby's SHARON TATE IN HEAVEN Finds New Performance Venue

Sharon Tate in Heaven has a new home in New York City for the August 8-11 run. The White Box Studio C at The Alchemical Theatre Laboratory. Sharon Tate in Heaven, presented by This American Blonde Actress and Mississippi Mud Productions, returns for a limited special New York City run this August 8th-11th, followed by two special dates in Lido Beach, New York August 16th and 17th at Theresa Academy for Performing Arts.

'MULLINGAR' MOTHERS & SONS and More Set for Philadelphia Theatre Company's 40th Anniversary Season

An all-star Philadelphia cast kicks off Philadelphia Theatre Company's 40th Anniversary season with the Pulitzer Prize finalist Detroit by Lisa D'Amour running October 10-November 9 at Philadelphia Theatre Company's Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by Maria Mileaf, the cast features K.O. DelMarcelle, Tom McCarthy, Genevieve Perrier, Steven Rishard, and Matteo J. Scammell.
