National Chorale to Present 49th HANDEL'S MESSIAH SING-IN This December

National Chorale, New York's premier professional choral company, under the Artistic Direction of Everett McCorvey, continues its 2016-2017 Season at Lincoln Center with the 49th presentation of Handel's Messiah Sing-In on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 8pm at the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, NYC. The performance features Eric Brenner, Roderick George, Kevin Maynor and Jessica Sandidge.

Music Institute of Chicago Concert Spotlights Black Composers Today

The Music Institute of Chicago is offering free lunchtime concerts and conversation one Today per month. Lunch is available for purchase from the Pret A Manger Kiosk, and free coffee will be served. Soprano Rae-Myra Hilliard and pianist Louise Chan perform excerpts from 'Seasons Change: Music Written by Black American Composers' on October 23.

An Evening of Spirituals & Songs of Faith by African American Composers Highlight Ride the Chariot October 9

Five talented musicians are joining forces to present "Ride the Chariot," an evening of African American songs including such favorites such as "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Steal Away," "A City Called Heaven," "Ain't Got Time to Die," among others. Performing are Rashard Allen, baritone; Jessica Gondwe, soprano; Naomi Christine Leapheart, contralto; Christyan Seay, tenor and Maria Thompson Corley, pianist.

Opera Ebony, the longest running African - American opera company in the United States, is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with a special celebration weekend with 2 events. The Art of The Spiritual, - a master class to be taught by Florence Quivar, mezzo-soprano, a prominent Opera singer known for her warm, and rich voice, will be taught today, February 9, 2013 at 4PM at Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew (Chapel - 263 West 86th Street New York, NY 10024), Admission is $10 (mail payments to: Opera Ebony Guild, 305 West 90th Street, Suite G, New York, NY 10024).
